The Virginia Democrat said the McConnell proposal “is not about what’s in the best interest of the country” but about “weakening the Democratic Party for the next decade.”

Hmmm... if it is indeed in the best interest of the country then why would it weaken the Democratic Party? He's having a logic fail, i.e. cannot be truthful with himself or the voters.

These RATS are lying! They are all in favor of this. They are only coming out against this for political cover. They are totlally in favor of this! McConnell is a closet RAT, one of them!

I’m glad their paranoia is off the charts. Maybe it will doom this white-flag from McConnell.

Like I said in another post, I'll bet even house DEMS won't go for McConnell's idea. The reason: They can't trust 0bama either.

roflol If raising the debt ceiling is such a great idea why aren’t they hurrying to seize this chance and do it? How could it hurt them if it is the right thing to do?
I have to guess it’s because they know the American people do not want higher taxes in spite of reassurances from their dear leader to the contrary and they know it will hang them in 2012.

... the McConnell proposal “is not about what’s in the best interest of the country” but about “weakening the Democratic Party for the next decade.”

In my mind, that's a distinction without a difference.

Let me get this straight. According to Dems, we have to raise the debt ceiling to prevent Armageddon. 80% of Americans are for a “balanced” (raise taxes) approach to dealing with the deficit. Dems say Americans are for some tax increases.

BUT WAIT! They think giving Obama what he wants is a trap because then he would be blamed for the results. Don't they mean credited with the results?

Really?

The McConnell plan is awful for many reasons, passing-the-buck, giving up on cutting spending, handing power to the President, etc.,

But I can see how even Democrat would have a problem with giving Obama all the responsibility of actually making a, um, ahem, er, decision. They dont call him Mr Pres—ent for nothing.

That is in the best interest the country.

The good thing about this McConnell deal is not in the details & spending issues of the legislation itself (which is not exactly what the end goal should be by any means...we have to have real reforms and cuts at some point), but that it is completely being worked out in Congress and marginalizes and weakens Obama. Obama wants to play a game with a serious issues and be childish so McConnell is trying to just find a way to go around him - completely.

In order drum up support the Dems need only refer to it as the proposal of Senator Mitch McConnell (D), Kentucky.

Instead of solving problems, our elected reps can always be counted on to kick the proverbial can further down the road.

Rep. Jim Moran sounded a similar warning Friday. The Virginia Democrat said the McConnell proposal “is not about what’s in the best interest of the country” but about “weakening the Democratic Party for the next decade.”

But I repeat myself.
