Who was controlling the purse strings while G.W.B. was in office? Remember all appropriation bills originate in the House. G.W.B. certainly didn’t ruin the economy by himself.

Yes, Bush had help. But the big mistake that he and his Statist dad made was NOT using the veto pen.
Americans are confused because Bush "happily" went along with insane spending, plus the cancerous Medicare Part-D fiasco. With regard to spending, there was no clear delineation between the two parties.
Hopefully, when a Conservative wins in 2012, they will slash and burn the insane budget, along with the Federal parasite payroll. Every Federal employee hired in support of Obamacare should be fired and their pensions revoked.
