I disagree (respectfully). This has no chance of passing the senate, but it forces the issue right back onto the democrats. This is smart politics. Maybe the stupid party is not so stupid...

The reality is the debt ceiling will be raised. The rest of the questions are political. And politically the options are Obama takes the heat for the economy in the next election or the Republicans and their candidate does.

I agree. Raise the limit, name your own cuts and no tax increases. Send it to the Senate and let the Dems own the “default” for non-action.
