Another Kennedy wedding on the Cape today — big night for package (liquor) stores and state police sobriety checkpoints. But somehow it doesn’t seem the same — so many things seem to be missing from the traditional Kennedy wedding.
For starters, a Catholic church. Didn’t the Kennedys used to get married in Catholic churches? Caroline at Our Lady of Victory in Centreville, Maria Shriver at St. Francis Xavier in Hyannis?
Now Patches gets hitched at the compound. Forget “celebrating” Mass, these nuptials will be “officiated” by moonbat Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.
Bill Clinton must not have been available.
Of course some things never change, such as the Kennedys trying to avoid paying taxes. Their latest grift — I mean, donation — is going to be Uncle Ted’s house in the compound. It will be donated to his new Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate, which is of course a ... nonprofit.
And so another $60,000 or so will vanish from the tax rolls of the town of Barnstable. Somewhere, out on the Isabella, Sen. Liveshot Kerry is nodding his approval.
Somehow, when I think of Teddy’s house, where he nursed so many hangovers, the words “study center” don’t come immediately to mind. Why don’t the Kennedys just sell the damn place and take the millions they’ll get and actually donate some of their own jack to the institute, which is being built at Columbia Point, largely on the taxpayers’ dime.
Or they could just sign the deed over to Auntie Zeituni. After all, Ted was awfully proud of his sponsorship of the Immigration Reform Act of 1965, which he assured Congress would not lead to the United States being overrun by hordes of indigent illegal aliens from the Third World.
They could call it a sanctuary compound. Or maybe the family could set up the Ted Kennedy Driving School.
Meanwhile, now the children of Bobby Kennedy are bent out of shape because their dad apparently isn’t getting a big enough wing at the JFK Library.
“They offered to put his name on a hallway,” Joe III told the New York Times.
Hey Joe, I have an idea. Call your dear pal Hugo Chavez down in Caracas and see whether he’ll chip in a hundred mil or so for your own Robert F. Kennedy Center.

Gah. My wife had the news on when I came home, and they were doing a traditional puff-piece on the Kennedys...I asked my wife, and she said they were having a wedding. Then they showed Patrick Kennedy, and just seeing his face turned my stomach.
The newscaster then said something like “...and the bride to be is in the process of learning what it is like to be married to a Kennedy...”
My first thought was: “That doesn’t sound like much fun for a woman...first there is the drinking, then the infidelity, then, oh, wait...first the infidelity, THEN the drinking...”
Yes. I used to think the Kennedys were rock-bottom low-lifes. That was before I found out what else the Democrats could dredge up.
Has Howie said anything about Merino’s comments that “auto theft by illegals isn’t a big deal?”

We seek to buy contiguous properties around Hyannis on the Cape to act as a Holy Shrine; a gathering place, as it were, for the Popish Peasants of Norumbega to gather in thoughtful prayer to Sts. John and St. Robert of Hyannis, Virgins and Martyrs. We are raising money now because soon a Pope will be named from Southie, who will see the light about these two outstanding American Catholics.
We are also seeking funds to engage a canon lawyer who may facilitate the annulments necessary for Patches and his Bride to be joined in Holy Matrimony in the Church of Rome. Or, to pay for any future rehabs.
