The BIG LIE in this chart is in what it DOESNT SHOW:
- MEDICARE, #1 spending item
- SOCIAL SECURITY, #2 spending item
- MEDICAID
- UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE and other ‘mandatory’ spending
So, interest is big, but under 10% of total spending, and there are other bigger items.
