What are you talking about?
You’re not still deluded into the fiction that they are going to raise taxes?
As for McConnell’s odd duck proposal, Boehner was asked about that at a morning presser, asked what he thought about it. He said he understood the idea as being an absolute last resort after everything else has been tried, so he wants it to just sit there on the table while we do other things.
That was a diplomatic answer, but clearly that’s not the way Boehner wants to go.

Well, it is difficult for me to anticipate all of the possible ways that the GOP could cave or self-destruct. They might not raise taxes, but they might continue pushing the McConnell proposal, which will cause civil war in the House, and is unconstitutional on its face.
I’m glad you have more confidence in the GOP leadership. Here’s hoping you are right, and that they stay or become principled, intelligent, and crafty; that they save the government from default, cut government, and don’t raise net taxes. If they do in fact accomplish all that, then they will have our gratitude (and that would finish off Obama, incidentally).
