[history]
Decision day is rapidly approaching for Sarah Palin, and for the first time the former Alaska governor has indicated a time frame for when she will make a decision about whether to run for president.
"You know, August and September, you do have to start laying out a plan if you are to be one to throw your hat in the ring, so that's basically the time frame," Palin told Sean Hannity during an appearance Wednesday night on Fox News.

Shes turning into Fred Thompson at the speed of light. No way. Even though Thompson threw his hat in during 2008, never really had that burning desire to lead the nation. Palin does. Not that the American electorate would manage to turn away from SRM propaganda and elect her, but it's not from a lack of enthusiasm on her part.

$15,000 to purchase a table and unlimited funds needed to buy the vote of those voting... no thanks... Iowa can enjoy their sideshow and I hope they raise a ton of money... but a legitimate poll it is not.

She is missing nothing right now by not being in. The others are just grinding away at each other. Palin isn't chewing up money or energy right now.
She has said before that campaigns are too long and she would be different.
Living here in Iowa; I am glad she is waiting. Sometimes it's (the whole primary thing) become too much of a spectacle. Nice to see the process become shorter and more simplified.
Just like we need our government to be.

Thompson announced in October. He also was a stalking hourse for McCain - so he actually succeeded in his mission.
Palin is no one’s stalking horse. Bachmann probably is - for Romney.

Well, well, well, now I appear to be right. Palin will join the fray around Labor Day. And how appropriate...Labor Day and stand on the podium and she will point out all the detriment that Obama is doing to the labor force in this country.
And I agree with you that Sarah Palin knows what she is doing.
Fear ye, fear ye all ye liberals...Palin is Coming!!!

Little or nothing regarding Fred Thompson occurs at the speed of light.

How about right now? That would juice up the race a bit. :)Why now? It's the middle of summer and most Americans are taking vacations - more focused on beach and barbeque than politics.
I think Labor Day weekend will be a perfect time for the announcement. By then, we'll be sick of hearing about the other candidates and a Palin candidacy will rejuvenate the race and get people paying attention again.

this reeks of histrionic diva-ishness.
The ones who announce 18 months before the election are the divas.

Right before she metioned Aug or Sept., she said something using the word, "legally" or "legal". I believe she was referring to the July 26th date.
I'm guessing that is what's driving her timeline.

When the GOP screws up the debt ceiling negotiations, Palin will be there to grab the momentum and use it to launch her campaign.

"Despite what some people believe, she is not a seat of the pants operator."You've got that right, gov_bean_ counter!
The timing of Sarah Palin's announcement, whether it's late summer, early fall, or 3 AM in the morning, is not because of any indecision or hesitancy, but instead the timing of the announcement is deliberate, planned, according to a long-range strategy to win the nomination and the election, and (I love this) will cause fifth-column LSM heads to explode.
