U.S. President Barack Obama clashed with Republican lawmakers on Wednesday in a fierce White House meeting on deficit reduction that left a deal in question as the clock ticked toward a debt default.
"Enough's enough," Obama said, according to a Democratic official familiar with the talks.
The meeting came as Moody's Investors Service jolted Washington with a stark warning that the United States may lose its top credit rating in the coming weeks if the $14.3 trillion limit on America's borrowing was not raised.
The warning sent the U.S. dollar tumbling against most major currencies. Stock futures and debt prices also fell.
Eric Cantor, the No. 2 Republican leader in the House of Representatives, said the talks on Wednesday became so acrimonious that Obama walked out, but a Democratic aide called Cantor's account "overblown."
"He said he had sat here long enough. No other president, Ronald Reagan wouldn't sit here like this," Cantor told reporters.

BHO walks out of talks; Carney says to be nicer to him. I’m in Wonderland.
Ronald Reagan would not loose control of economic policy.
Ohhhhh boy...Urkel's REALLY mad now.
What a sad, pathetic joke.
petulant children usually stomp their feet and walk away disgruntled when their demands are not met by the grown-ups....
To be fair, the national debt was not one of Reagan’s strong points. It went up under him more than any other President % wise. It tripled during his eight years.
And then the “Peace dividend” kicked in and spending really took off.
FUBO!!!
Wicked bastard.
To be fair, Ronald Reagan had vision and a plan that the American people bought into. Neither Obama or the GOP can inspire the nation.
Walk out and stay out Marxist garbage pail!
“No other president, Ronald Reagan wouldn’t sit here like this”
Barry, we knew Ronald Reagan.
You are no Ronald Reagan.
Screw that Kenyon Punk! Maybe he will choke to death on a gob of prime rib, Good riddance! We would only be stuck with Biden, Who Is just an idiot!
The walkout by Zero is just more show, as if anyone really cares. Bernanke, per the article, stated that the bond holders would be paid and then Social Security and other programs would be hit. First of all, Bernanke has nothing to do with the Treasury and it’s payment priorities. Bernanke is worried that he and his fellow thieves over at Goldman Sachs might not get their cut.
It's about eff'n time talks got so acrimonious that the SOB walked out. Why have people been patting little Barry on his cute little butt and pampering him this long? Just look at what this fascist bastard has done to our children and grandchildren, but it's only when someone is afraid folks on Social Security are going to be ticked off that anyone clearly reams the guy out enough for him to leave? I expected some of the young guns to be out in public pissing Barry off every day, not just now and again when the prissy little faggot is playing big deal at a meeting.
He's a loudmouth punk who has been pampered and catered to all his life. Confront him the same way a few more times and he'll have an insane temper tantrum on national television for everyone to see.
Cantor took away his balloon and Owhiny went into a snit. Now permanently take away his credit card so we can see him hold his breath til he passes out.
moochelle chows down, while she is telling school kids they can only have 1 cup of carbs per week
In Reagan's case at least we got something for the cost.
The downfall of the Soviet Union.
Now all we are getting is a black hole and nothing to show for it.
Obama just needs to explain to them that:
1) He won the election,
2) He has a Nobel Peace Prize, and
3) He promised the American people he would cut the deficit in half
Once he does these things, he will have no trouble bending the Republicans to his will. Well, Lindsay Graham anyway.
