Thomas Sowell, a long time ago, pointed out different subgroups within disadvantaged minorities. One subgroup he pointed out was Afro-Caribbeans and how successful they are. He said the success of members of subgroups, which cannot be differentiated by the majority, is proof that it’s not discrimination by the majority but the values of the group or subgroups that count the most.

Bill Cosby said the the same thing, but in reverse, at a graduation speech he gave. He said that to avoid poverty, kids should finish H.S., not have kids until they were married, and stay married. He was savaged by the MSN and folks who have a vested interest in keeping people dependent.
