Yes, that’s true. However, in the post-war era, Germany was re-built under the guidance of Konrad Adenauer, the first chancellor of the new formed Federal Republic of Germany, who served from 1949 - 1963. He took a country that was literally in ruins and transformed it into one of the world’s most prosperous countries.

Perhaps Sarah Palin is America’s Konrad Adenauer.
