Obama's roots may well reach back to the CIA. And his progress thru college and early adulthood may well have been managed by CIA-assets or the New Left usurpers of the network that the CIA created (along with their Soviet managers).
That is all quite conceivable. And, further, it is obvious that the product is a totally artificial one -- created by his managers and himself. But it leaves one important question unanswered: Who is running him now?. It is inconceivable that somebody so shy of native intelligence, common judgement and people skills could possibly be operating independently.
Is it some controlling clique of the New Left? Is there still a remnant of Soviet control? Is it embedded in the CIA? Recall that the Plame Affair strongly suggested there was an element of the CIA which was aggressively left-wing and anxious to bring down the Bush administration.
Moreover, having gained power, will they willingly give it up?
The Tea Party has emerged for the specific purpose of ripping out everything that the Left has accomplished -- root and branch.
Having gotten where they are, will they now risk their gains?
If not, then what might they do to retain them -- and silence the forceful -- but, admittedly, amateur -- opposition?
Would Obama himself be vulnerable in this scenario?
Damn right.
In other words, if de Codevilla is correct in his deductions, how does this thing play out from here?
I'm inclined to apply Occam's razor - Obama has hid his past because it shows he is hardly the brilliant person the media has made him out to be, and he has some ties to unsavory leftist figures such as Willian Ayers.
Instead, he has coasted through the system via the affirmative action path and cut his teeth in the corrupt Chicago machine. He is truly a man for an age where people just don't pay enough attention and institutions gladly exploit that.
Whenever a left-wing SOB, e.g., Clinton, Kerry, and now the Preposterous One, gets into a tight corner, it has become somewhat of an MSM mini-tradition to trot out the possibility that there is a "CIA connection;" just to see if anybody buys it.
The Clinton Gang trotted out this gambit in order to explain Clinton's mysterious year behind the Iron Curtain after he was thrown out of Oxford after a date-rape scandal. The leftie PR guys tried it again to explain Kerry's shenanigans. It is just possible that Codevilla is "buying" it here in this article in regard to the Magic Marxist MF.
