Sure, he made some mistakes thinking it was ideology, but it's really all about the CAUCUS.
What we have here is McConnell ridiculing the Democrats. They actually forgot every idea he put forward was a Nixon proposal, or actual legislative program, that was knocked down by the Supreme Court.
It's a silly little difference between voting FIRST for Nixon in 68 or voting FIRST for Nixon in 72. If 68 you remember that stuff. If 72 you don't.
That's why kicking the voting age back from 18 to 21 didn't do much ~ kids just don't care!

True enough. But if you say "Obama" to them, you get them all running to the voting booth (sometimes three or four times) "Kumme-bye-Ya"ing all over the place with "Hope-y/Change-y" and "Because he's black, we want him back", and "republicans all suck"!

Ironically, the first vote I ever cast was for Nixon in ‘72.
