“Amazing, to be on a 2/3 vote for light bulbs thread and you somehow inject a defamation toward Perry.
Mighty nifty stretch you have there.”
Naa, it was just the first thing that came to my mind. The entire Republican base (except me*) wants these light bulb standards overturned, and the Republicans decide to make that ONE LAW require a 2/3s vote, which they knew they couldn’t win. We had practically the IDENTICAL thing happen here at the end of our Special Session - some new rule to require a supermajority - and somehow the stuff that Perry didn’t really want, just didn’t get through.
*I have thousands of incandescents. I plan to make a killing on them on E-Bay, but I don’t what to do if the Republicans overturn this law.
If nobama is “da man” again in 2012, you reckon you will be able to sell incands on Ebay?
They’ll be like Freon 12, smuggled from Mexico.
Personally, I have no problem with LED lights, flouresences yes I don’t like for a number of reasons. Just don’t want some buttbrain in DC telling me I can not have incands. They want to save electricity turn off the millions of yard lights.
When LEDs get priced right and guaranteed to last 20 years (give me a non-revocable Letter of Credit to present with any failed LED) and I’ll pay a bit more. Main issue with LEDs is the electronics, not the LED itself. Lightning or crappy power can wreck LED electronics in a second and I am sure the current warranty has fine print regarding these effects.
Ain't that a pisser?
I do not know what makes me angrier. That Boehner set it up that way or that he thinks we are too stupid to know what he is doing.
I wonder what would happened if we took to the street in protest those damned lightbulbs in hand. "Whoops! I dropped it."
