EL PASO - A judge has rejected a plea deal that would have resolved Willie Nelson's marijuana possession case in West Texas with a fine, saying the country singer shouldn't get what she considers special treatment.
Nelson was arrested in November after a Border Patrol agent said 6 ounces of marijuana were found on Nelson's tour bus.
Judge Becky Dean-Walker told The Associated Press on Wednesday that she rejected prosecutor Kit Bramblett's suggestion that Nelson resolve the case by pleading guilty and paying a $500 fine for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dean-Walker claims the prosecutor "doesn't do that for anybody else."
The judge says Nelson should be charged with the misdemeanor marijuana possession, which carries up to a year in jail.
Throw him in the can. I’m sick of lookin’ at him anyway.
Willy is an adult and a liberal. He should be smart enough to know what would happen if he got caught and man up and take the punishment. He’s not above the law.
Willie’s a fine and great talent. But he’s also an old guy who never grew up.
He should change his name to Willie Pan.
People break the law to use it the first time, and then spend their lives living outside of the law to continue their habit.
Thank you!!!
From your lips to God's ears!!!
Put his druggie ass in jail.
Screw Willie - who cares about that D’bag?
What an absurd way to use a jail bed. What a contemptuous waste of tax payer money.
I would have thought Willie was only smoking it for “medical” purposes by now.
One of my favorites ...

No. 9 is for you, Lost.
I don’t know. I’d pay to watch these Democrat musicians pick up litter on the highway.
“Mr Nelson, we found 6 oz of marijuana in your vehicle.”
“You did? Who smoked the other 10?”
“And we found some peyote”
“There better be two ounces of that”.
Runners up: Loretta Lynn, Bob Wills, Waylon, Merle, Buck.
Well worth repeating. End the stupid war on (some) drugs.
A cabin I was at this weekend had a deck of cards with pictures of country stars. VERY OLD pictures of country stars.
The Willie Nelson card showed a smooth skinned youngster wearing a very conservative suit and a sober expression. If the name hadn’t been printed under the picture I would never in a million years been able to tell you who was in that picture.
I’ve seen pics of Willie back when he was an unknown Nashville songwriter...very buttoned down and conservative looking.
