I just have a question -— Based on your experience, do you think the South Koreans, with their new found prosperity and ample technology, and their large male population, are able to defend themselves against the North?

If so, let’s get the hell outta there and reduce our deficit and spending further.

Materially and financially, yes. However, while individual units are superb and will fight and die to the last man (ask any Vietnam vet about Korean soldiers), overall, my gut feeling is that the command, political, and social structure will collapse like a wet kleenex.
