"Though he often suggested that she was denied health coverage because of a pre-existing condition," Scott writes, "it appears from her correspondence that she was only denied disability coverage." That's a different story altogether. One the president never told.

Correctly worded, it should have read, his speech was pure unadulterated BS - one that his propaganda machine media either never bothered to check OR let slide, because ANYTHING their master told/tells them is okay with them.

worked in Jakarta until 1992 when she changed jobs. Changed jobs in 1994 again, aware she had a medical issue (likely also insurance companies) and later that year refuses treatment in the USA after disclosing illness (boss said airfare would have been covered) . Returns to USA in Jan 1995, hospital bills insurance directly, leaving Dunham to pay “several hundred dollars a month” in uncovered/deductible expenses. Dunham insists that she be reimbursed for ‘living expenses’ as well as the uncovered expenses.

The question comes to mind immediately: why didn’t Dunham just apply for state welfare disability as indigent? did she actually have a nest egg she didn’t want to disclose to welfare? or was she ineligible for other reasons, such as failure to report income (file a tax return) for any of the preceding 10 years? which would have made her ineligible for federal disability insurance? What type of treatment/income would she have received in Jakarta? Why was she worried about ‘living expenses’ if ‘her son, the attorney’ was, at that time, comfortably employed, as was her mother and father?

there’s still something fishy about this story

A dozen years later, her son turned her ordeal into a campaign pitch for national health care. But the story Obama told, Scott writes, was "abbreviated" -- the abbreviation was to leave out the fact that Ann Dunham had health insurance that paid for her treatment. Read more at the Washington Examiner: http://washingtonexaminer.com/politics/2011/07/fresh-doubt-cast-obamas-health-care-story#ixzz1Rr0RVRph

I am begining to wonder if Obama ever told the truth about anything.

Wow, what a story. So let me see, his mom had health insurance and was covered for her treatment in Hawaii except for a couple of hundred dollars a month because of deductibles and other uncovered expenses. The boss even covered for the airfare to have her return to HI.

So then she tries to get that money plus living expenses in Hawaii paid through the company’s disabilitiy insurance. They denied her THAT PORTION saying the condition was pre-existing before she was covered by the disability insurance policy. So she must have signed up for disability insurance after being diagnosed with cancer.

Couldn’t obama have helped his mom out with the deductible? Wasn’t she living with her mom? (that would help with living expenses)

obama told a whopper.

There are a number variations of a quote that was [incorrectly] attributed to Joseph Goebbels:

If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth ... If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it ... If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it ... If you repeat a lie long enough, it becomes truth ... If you repeat a lie many times, people are bound to start believing it.

Here is an ACTUAL quote:

But the most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success.

From "War Propaganda", Volume 1, Chapter 6 of Mein Kampf (1925), by Adolf Hitler

Barry and mommy were DOLTS.

Forget CIGNA and nay company disability coverage Durham had or did not have. If you have terminal cancer, or terminal anything, you IMMEDIATELY qualify for Social Security Disability including Medicare. (not SSI but full boat, regular S.S.)

Her S.S. monthly amount would have been the same amount as if she was 65 and retiring. So she wouldn't have had to pay a penny out of pocket and worry about 'bankruptcy'. Her company Health Insurance pays the primary, 80%, and from her SS payments she could have paid the deductible (it's not like Medicaid were you have to be 'poor'(/s) to qualify). So her 'Lawyer son' apparently wasn't too sharp back then. (HUGH sarcasm intended)

She should have called....... Binder and Binder :-)

‘Fresh Doubt’? A rational man must doubt everything a Cook County Democrat says.

Only the insane forgo skepticism when a Crook County Dem speaks. Their promises are mist, their memories sieves, and their tongues forked. They lie as naturally as they breathe.

Byron York is being kind. It is more than “fresh doubt.” Obama lied, once again.
