Whatever happened to those big truck freight hauling companies of the past? I remember seeing RedBall everywhere. What were some of the others?

I recall when ROADWAY ruled Ohio. Large presence in virtually every state. Now? Merged with YELLOW FREIGHT. Both “downsizing.” ROADWAY trailers being re-painted/scrapped. Freight terminals/yards closing/combining.

Consolidated Freightways, McLean, Arrow, Crescent, Allied Van Lines, Carolina Freightways, Overnite, Pilot Freight, Spartan, Thurston among others. Roadway Express and Yellow have merged.
