It's about time. In a recent incident in Fairfax County Virginia, a teenager was spotted with a BB gun on his grandmother's property. The neighborhood was sealed off, and a swat team arrived with a helicopter and multiple snipers. The teen was arrested for some firearm violation, and a bystander, doctor who happened to be bringing lunch to his invalid wife, was arrested for crossing a police line. This is really out of control crazy.

However, “a BB gun can be dangerous like any other firearm,” he said, adding he was aware of one case this year in which a small child was blinded in one eye as a result of being shot with a BB by another child.

I have no problem with him warning people to be careful with BB guns, but PLEASE don't call it a "firearm". I've searched them quite thoroughly and there is no fire anywhere.
