The longer he holds out and refuses to make cuts to trim the national debt ceiling, the more Americans are seeing for themselves how out of touch he is in refusing to do exactly what he's telling the rest of us we must do. I could work out a deal to cut spending and raise the debt limit. I do not know why he cannot. Simply order all executive agencies, services and departments to cut their spending by 7% or 8%. Let them figure out where to stop spending.
