“In short, I think she enjoys her current position much more than she seemed to enjoy campaigning in 2008 (according to the various accounts I’ve read).”

Don’t forget that in 08 she was under the thumb of McCain ‘handlers’ whereas this time, she’s calling all the shots.
Were I her, I would not have liked the treatment they dished out either.

She would have her own people, but I get the impression 2008 kind of turned her off of Presidential politics (and I can’t say I blame her - that entire campaign seemed miserable). My impression could be very wrong.

Exactly so!

McCain's handlers, did everything in their power to derail her and destroy her. She didn't want to lose, she wanted to make a fight of it and even unto the end, they cut her off at the knees.

Excellent point, Norm. Imagine if Sarah had been as 'rogue' as she could have been back then- the media spotted a non-conformist in Sarah and worked to destroy her because, simply, they had to elect the first Negro haploid to the Office Of President, and they had their 'compromised' candidate in John "don't get between him and the microphone" McCain.

When John 'reached across the aisle' it was tribute to the fact that he could still use his arms after the abuse he received in Nam. Trouble is, those on the 'other side of the aisle' rooted for his captors and he never figured it out. Sarah wasn't fooled, not once. They'd not only break his arms, they were busy trying to break hers.

During the Kouric interview, Sarah locked-up upon hearing the least expected question ever imagined in her life of a prospective VP candidate. Rest assured, Joe Biden would have had an immediate answer just as he would have if the question had been, "When you wipe, do you fold or crinkle?" Because he's that injected into what's really important in the world and our part as a nation. And, because he'd have expected such a question from perky Katy.

Sarah will destroy the MSM, the LSM (as she describes them) and the MFM as I perceive them. If elected President, and I hope with all my might this happens, she'll give them the hand to talk to. They deserve no less for their participation in this country's decline. It's not just that they aren't doing their job but actively working to subvert those values that are at the heart of what makes America great- individual liberty, capitalism, religion, and a sense of charity not seen anywhere on earth.

What America needs today is not some 'cool' President, but a non-conformist which, if you think about it, would be really 'cool'. If only the young and independents would recognize this our task would be much less difficult. To think a mother from Alaska could fit such a bill is almost unthinkable. But she can and she will if given the chance. If she couldn't, would they spend the energy and time to destroy her as they have?

And would they not spend as much to promote a MassCare candidate who has more in common with them than his own party's base? If Romney isn't a media created Toad, then I'm the Jolly Green Giant. "Ho Ho Ho, bitch". See, I suck as bad at being the JGG as Romney does being a conservative. The Tenth Amendment wasn't put there so governors could be a-holes, it was put there to keep the Feds from being a-holes and that's why the courts have ignored it- they like big a-holes. Well, four out of nine do, anyway.

This country needs a whole-lot-of-fixin and as a trouble-shooter by trade, we must not fail this next election. The stakes are too high and the corrections too many. Care must be exercised in whatever form the fixes take. A soft landing is a must where we have many dependent upon our ponzi schemed programs. Retirement and medical care must be un-coupled from government budgetary items. With a thriving market, both could exist while providing better benefits than any govt. plan will. Competition beats non-competition every time. Let our markets do their job, get out of the way, and watch us prosper and provide for our needy.

My guess is that a certain girl from Alaska would be inclined to pursue the same approach to our many 'social' issues. Get out of the way and let the market solve most of our problems. And, when they can't, offer incentives to those willing to spend their wealth on helping the poor and disabled by giving tax breaks as is done for churches who should be the primary source of help for those who have no place to turn for help. Yeah, a church, a place of faith should be the first turn in the road to restructuring one's dismembered life. And why not? One will put a pancake in your hand, while the other puts it on your head (Govt) as in a dream. The syrupy plans instituted by the Left are just that- Dreams of My Maple/Father. The sooner Americans are awakened from this comma induced nightmare, the better.
