That may work for other nations but not here.....because the last thing this Gov. will do is stop the welfare people from getting their checks...not going to happen.
Something has to give. We can't afford the welfare state. Benefits will have to be cut or taxes raised. Neither solution is really acceptable. Just as in Greece, people will take to the streets demanding their stuff. I don't thik you have an appreciation for the dire straits this nation is in. An aging population that will double the number over 65 in the next 20 years will bankrupt this country unless we change the entitlement programs. And our annual debt servicing costs will approach $1 trillion in 10 years.
Greece just got another bailout...people have been in the streets but the cuts are happening just the same...and there is no change in governance. So people in the streets isnt going to be more than just that here....people in the streets.
I lived three years in Athens. The additional cuts have yet to be put in place. There are going to be much larger demonstrations and I doubt the current government will survive. Moreover, the EU is just postponing the inevitable. Greech will default. I doubt if the Germans want to fund the second round of bailouts nor will the EB. The bottom line is that the Greek drama is far from over.
I dont believe the American people have the stomach for a civil war in the country. We already have a war on our southern border and yet no troops have been called out to protect it.
There won't be a civil war but rather a class war. Rich versus poor. The gap will get larger. And the USA will take on a third world profile with those better off living in gated compounds and the underclass scuffling over government handouts. We have 44 million on foodstamps now. We are bringing in 125,000 legal foreign workers A MONTH now. Unemployment rates will be 8% and 9% as the norm. You can't run $1 trillion annual budget deficits forever.
So just the American people getting their pants in a knot, of which I am one of them, and taking to the streets isnt going to bring in a third party.
We will just agree to disagree. The status quo won't be an option.
Yes.....I don't see any group that has the 'stability' and 'know how' to bring together a third party and 'sustain' it. Let alone the finances that would require. The Tea-Party has done exceptional in getting behind candidates which do represent their interests. That's what it does..... A "sufficient number of people"....to put the pressure on the elections...and will continue to do so. If the Tea-Party determines to be the "vehicle" for a third party it will loose the backing and popularity it now has...as well as it's power to affect elections. But to become a third party representation.....I don't believe possible it can sustain that...nor survive.
