Our 'leadership' seems to have written off Huey, or perhaps they just don't care. In any event, there's little help for a Repub in Los Angeles of all places that's within striking distance.

"HUDDLE SCOOP: CALIFORNIA RACE TIGHT -- Internal Democratic polling shows Democrat Janice Hahn up by only a handful of points -- roughly five -- in the special-election race to succeed Jane Harman, Democratic sources tell Huddle. Hahn Campaign Manager Dave Jacobsen, who declined to confirm the numbers, told Huddle that voters in the 36th District are just starting to learn about Republican Craig Huey. To wit, Hahn's campaign is going up with its first cable television buy of the general election today, noting that Huey has called Planned Parenthood a "murder mill" in the past. D.C. Democrats know they can't take anything for granted and they're in close contact with the Hahn campaign. After the bump they got from Kathy Hochul's special election victory in New York, they don't want to give up that momentum -- and certainly not in Pelosi's home state." http://www.politico.com/huddle/0611/huddle804.html

If the GOP caves to Obama on the budget deficit Sunday, then my wife and I will skip voting for Huey and stay home...

Actually, they wrote off California. They are stepping back and letting it implode on the socialists’ heads.
The Mexicans who are voting in a huge race bloc need to experience the poverty and crime of home sweet home, I guess. They here to get free stuff and jobs off the backs of everyone else. They have no idea how the wealth and freedom was created nor how to carry it forward thanks to Ameican leftists who took over re-education of the state a long time ago. Multiculturalism.
Well, the uneducated Mexican peasants are killing the golden goose with their anti-American diversity socialist ideology that is foreign to the land of milk and honey which is why we had milk and honey and Mexico does not.
Will they learn after they crash the joint or just move to crash another American state to crash next? Americans don’t talk to them directly in Spanish - only diversity socialists do that which is by design of isolation by language and well maintained tribalism and ignorance.

This is appalling, if true, but remember that Politico loves to target GOP leadership. Huey is remarkably within striking distance, and I think that owes to the South Bay voters. Huey mailings to my area, West L.A., have slowed considerably and instead I get annoying anti-Huey propaganda from the Hahn camp. Janice Hahn is a certified nut job, but the zombies amongst whom I live will vote for her anyway... if they are aware there is an election.

That's the LAST thing you and your wife should do. Huey is solid. Anyone who can ID PP correctly has a sold grasp of reality.

Sadly, you are right about everything you say re “the late, great Golden State.”
Btw, the Los Angeles Dodgers have trademarked the guttural mexican version of their name: Los Doyers.
I would think that is one of McCourt’s parting shots.

This is a heavily pro-Obama district (64%). Huey is spending $800K of his own money. I hope he can pull off a surprise.

If he prevails, he will have done so largely without the help of his would-be GOP congressional colleagues. I take it that means he's a conservative.

Uh... Huey is a TeaParty candidate, not establishment. You’d be insane to skip voting regardless of what GOP do on Sunday.
To: Carry_Okie
He is. Huey is a small business guy running on a fiscally conservative message.
Hahn is part of the ruling dynasty in L.A. Her daddy was a city councilman for 30+ years. Her uncle was a city councilman then assemblyman. Her brother was D.A. and then mayor of L.A. and she's trying to move from the city council into congress.

Hahn is part of the ruling dynasty in L.A. Ahh, the Hahn Dynasty!
She must be Chinese! Janice Hahn, Genghis Kahn... I see it now!

If the GOP caves to Obama on the budget deficit Sunday, then my wife and I will skip voting for Huey and stay home... Please, don't do that. If Huey stands a chance you should take it. After all, think of what even coming close to a win in this area would mean in terms of reading the tea leaves of public sentiment.

If the GOP caves to Obama on the budget deficit Sunday, then my wife and I will skip voting for Huey and stay home... Actually you should try to get more voters to vote for him simply for that reason. Did you not get that the GOP hierarchy IS NOT BACKING HIM? If you don't like their duplicity, make it clear that you will be actively supporting those who are a threat to their leadership.
Read that the GOP leadership is not backing him not for the reasons the LIARS in the media (and the GOP shills on talk radio) tell you. They are NOT backing him because he clearly hasn't kissed their butts, and you know it.
ERGO: If the GOP caves on the budget deficit, double down against those sorry sell outs!

I drove through Palos Verdes today and there were Huey signs everywhere. Problem is, the district is much larger than Palos Verdes.
I suspect he goes down by 10 points...hope I’m wrong.
