You can't substantiate that by citing a single reference. And to allude that blacks were better off, in any way, under slavery...borders on racism, at least.

So, Walter Williams is a racist for making this comment>

The welfare state has done to black Americans what slavery couldnt do, what Jim Crow couldnt do, what the harshest racism couldnt do, Mr. Williams says. And that is to destroy the black family.

Under slavery they were unlikely to die from starvation or malnutrition, unlike blacks in many areas of Africa today. Black males were also less likely to die from violence than inner city USA blacks or African blacks today.
If saying so is racist, then so be it.
Nothing “borders on racism”.
Racism is not a county in Louisianna.
Either something is racism or its not.
If someone’s opinion is that a certain aspect of blacks’ lives was better under slavery, then even if its incorrect (which I’m not convinced it is), but even if its an incorrect statement doesn’t mean its racist.
You should learn to think clearly and objectively instead of knee-jerk recitation of “racism racism racism” at the slightest provocation, in the style of various well-known race-baiters in this country.
I recommend a course in math or logic.
Are you illiterate? That is not what the statement said. It made a very specific statistical comparison, which the leftists (yes, leftists) at Fox News are distorting, as are you.
The statement does not say slavery 'made' anything better. It states that by one measure, despite the anti-family impact of slavery, slaves were nonetheless better off than modern blacks. In other words, slavery is not as bad for black families as liberal policies.
