All I ever hear out of Tammy Faye as he sniffs into his hanky is “Thats all we could get”. Total BS. He likes to cut a deal as fast as possible. A deal where he has to take no heat from the press or the Dems. Bill Crystal is predicting a cave in. They will try to tell us they did not agree to tax hikes. Just closed some loopholes. Thats the same thing as a tax hike. I can hardly wait to see what the “deal” is.

Excellent post.

And that is why I will not vote Romney (or a couple other Dem Light) and will vote Third Party if they are nominated. No more “lesser of two evils” for me.

“it lends credibility” - not unless the C-Span cameras are on and rolling all “negotiations” out to the vast public, they don’t.

It’s because Republican primary voters are grossly uninformed. It takes work to learn about politics, and our little primary voters are too busy working to pay taxes. All they know to do is rubberstamp the loser last time.

As I recall Mr. Boehner said he would cave even before he became Speaker, or maybe it as a couple of weeks thereafter. People in OH are uninformed about him.

Tom Dewey started all the compromises, or was it even before Dewey? John Lindsay tried to use them to take over the party, failed, and became Democrat.

I don’t believe that Boehner even has a plan. He has done nothing in the 6 months the Republicans have controlled the House except cave in to Obama. This guy is an incompetent fool. At least Gingrich had a plan and accomplished a good deal of it while Speaker.

With few exceptions, The Republicans, at least at the Federal level, truly are horrible. The only thing that keeps me registered as a Republican for the past 47 years is that I get to vote in the Republican primaries for state and local offices.

*sigh* I fear you are correct. And the media, even supposed “friendly” media, has it’s own agenda, it’s own candidates, and it’s own selfish meme to push.

The GOP congress, aka “gentleman’s club”

In arguments, I refer to them as the Country Club Set going up against Hitler's Brown Shirts. Always get a deer-in-the-headlights reaction - which is why I have assumed a Bunker Mentality (not Hitler's).

“Tom Dewey started all the compromises, or was it even before Dewey?”

Wendell Willkie was a piece of work too. He was a New Deal Democrat the idiot party drafted to run against FDR in 1940. These betrayals have been going on for a very long time.
