Congressman Tom McClintock
July 7, 2011
Mr. Chairman: For more than three months, our nation has been amidst a quiet constitutional crisis that carries immense implications.
The Gentleman from Florida is sadly mistaken to dismiss this as a meaningless philosophical discussion. This issue strikes at the very heart of our Constitutional form of government.
On March 19th, completely without Congressional authorization, the President ordered an unprovoked attack against Libya.
In doing so, he crossed a very bright line placed in the Constitution specifically to prevent so momentous and fatal a decision as war from being made by a single individual.
The American Founders were explicit on this point. For centuries, European monarchs had plunged their nations into bloody and debilitating wars on whim and the Founders wanted to protect the American Republic from that fate.
James Madison explained why this way:
In no part of the constitution is more wisdom to be found, than in the clause which confides the question of war or peace to the legislature, and not to the executive department
the trust and the temptation would be too great for any one man
War is in fact the true nurse of executive aggrandizement. In war a physical force is to be created and it is the executive will which is to direct it. In war, the public treasures are to be unlocked, and it is the executive hand ..."

Executive order on the way in 3-2-1
I wish he’d run for president. He really impressed me in the California recall election. California made a big mistake not electing him and will pay the price for a long time moving forward.
Tyranny walks through the door in 3-2-1......
I’ve been following his record for years. I’d vote for McClintock in a heartbeat. He’s one of the few true Conservatives serving in office.
I think tyranny has already established residence, sad to say.
He did it while on vacation in Brazil too! n/s
Yup, McClintock’s a good man. Used to hear him fairly frequently on Barbara Simpson’s radio program.
Good for this man. It takes some courage to defy the toxic globalist-neocon-jihadist alliance sponsoring this inane adventure.

One who relies on EOs and czars to advance an agenda is one incapable of leadership.
I am fully confident this beautiful Country of ours will not succumb to tyranny. Not interested in opposing views.
I sincerely hope you are right.
I bet he’d have won if it wasn’t for that RINO Schwarzenegger running on a somewhat conservative platform and everyone thinking it was cool to elect the “Governator.” Maybe California wouldn’t have went as far down the crazy train as it has since...
The rebels in the Nafusa Mountains south of Tripoli had been making real progress. However, Gaddafi has sent his son’s Khami brigade to harrass the border crossing to Tunisia controlled by the rebels and the nearest town in and effort to starve the mountain people out.
Here is a recent report on conditions inside Tripoli by a reporter who managed to escape his Gaddafi minders and speak to people uncensored.
Criticism of Obama.
More evidence of the Rising Tide of Racism in Amerikkka.
Whenever my wife and I see his name on our ballot - we don’t even discuss it.
BAM! Instant 2 votes...
Defending him and warning about Arnold during that interim CA Gov. election is what got me banned over at Lucianne.com
The Kool-Aid over there must have been pretty damn powerful stuff.
=8-)

Not certain what to make of the (linked) report. The fog is always thick these days. The fog appears the only certainty. Here is to praying for less fog.
