Fear: GOP Will Cave on Sunday, Agree to Hike Taxes with Fake Cuts
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | July 8,2011 | Rush Limbaugh

So on Thursday's Special Report, Kristol said that the Republicans are gonna give in and agree to the terms set forth by the regime. Here's the quote. "It sounds as if it’s heading towards a deal. It’s not a deal that I’m going to like I suspect, and think it’s going to be a bad deal for conservatives and Republicans but I think they’re intimidated. The president has been running around talking about corporate jets and the rich, and how the sky is going to fall unless Republicans cave. And I think they’re getting ready to cave in a pretty big way on Sunday." Which is the next meeting. Obama canceled another vacation, was gonna go to Whitefish, Montana on Sunday but then he discovered that if he made these guys work on Sunday and went to Whitefish it wouldn't look good. He's probably kicking the teleprompter that made him say that these guys need to work through the weekend because now he has to as well.

I don't mean to be alarmist here, but if these guys cave, the November elections of 2010 -- see, the thing to me is that Boehner isn't under any pressure. His base does not want to compromise. We do not want a compromise. Whatever pressure Boehner thinks he's under is coming from somebody else, 'cause it's not coming from us. We don't want him to cave. We want what's right. If they come out of there with no deal that's advantageous for us and is not representative at all of the November 2010 elections, I'm afraid to predict what's gonna happen to these incumbent Republicans. Rasmussen today, 72% of the country favor free market economy over one managed by the government. Seventy-two percent, in other words, want to fire Obama.

While I have steadfastly insinuated that many within the GOP lack balls and spines, Pelosi is literally involved in the debt talks. I’d wager that there will be no deal struck Sunday.

They are better off just upping the debt limit without any changes than falling for any compromise on taxes. Keep the focus on spending, and if the Democrats won’t budge, tell the American people that we can’t address the debt problem as long as there is a Democratic Senate and Democrat in the White House. Kick of the 2012 campaign officially.

GOP caving is as predictable as the sun rising in the east. Sad, but true.

Yup, if they don’t cave, the media will skin theme alive. If they do cave, they can say the Dems promised. Then the Dems will renege.

Boehner, like McCain, Snowe and Lugar in the Senate, is a progressive. He may be a Republican but he supports progressive policies. He wants to cave on this issue but the conservatives in the House may reject any deal he caves on.

This seems not only a bit out of context, but it also fails to take into account Boehner’s Krystal Clear Retort. When Olympia Snow turns her up at the offer; it looks like the price of caving on this one might be a bit too high.
I suspect that there is quite a bit more game to play. Kristol is a soggy rag who couldn’t wait to tell us how moderate his buddy Obummer really was.

I hope Tammy Faye and company were listening to Rush today. He is right. They better not cave or we are going to see a third party and that will put Oblahblah back in the Whitehouse. You can kiss the USA goodbye if that happens.

Wonder if the Obama Syndicate pays visits to certain Congressional members with “an offer they cannot refuse”..

Be easy to do with the FBI, CIA, NSA and ATF plus the Justice Department to do your bidding..
Any leaks could easly be (lets say) liquidated..

And with a political machine that efficient.. members of the media and others as well..
What would you do? if members of your family were threatened.. or friends.. or co-workers..

Got suspicious when Vince Fosters homicide was handled by the Fort Marcy Park Rangers..
What a message that sent.. eh!... being..

“We can get away with whatever we want to get away with and what will YOU DO?..”

The first “tax cuts” that need to be on the table are the tax cuts Obama bragged about were in his stimulus plan. They were really increase in spending by increase the negative income tax, ie earned income tax credit, but if any “tax cuts” are to be done away with those should be first in line.

Boehner and McConnell are looking for ways to cave and look good in the eyes of the MSM. Of course this would play into Zer0 and the Donkey's hands. RINOs can't help themselves, but the House members will not do with any deal that Boehner brokers. McConnell can cave all he wants, but it takes two houses to approve this.

Boehner an McConnell are caught between a rock and a hard place. If they cave the MSM will love them and the Republican base will desert enmass — and totally starve the RNC of funding. If they don't cave, the base will embrace them and work their asses off to retire the Donkeys in the Senate and Barry from office. The problem for Boehner and McConnell is they're Beltway Insiders and they cannot understand how much DC insiders are hated outside of DC.

Of course there won’t be a deal Sunday. Why would u do a deal now, when u can wait a day before the deadline and claim a “crisis” and ram it through like they did with the “stimulus” bill. Only after it is rammed thru with phoney cuts, will the american people get to see the snakeoil.

Most of us have wised up, some haven’t

Even if they do “cave”, I don’t trust any deal they come up with will actually get done. The tax code is such a disaster and we have so many structural problems in our economy from too much govt interference, that there’s no way they can get it all done in one fell swoop. They’ll have to battle over individual cuts/tax code changes that they won’t ever get anything done - and then it won’t matter what kind of deal they got because it’s like not having any at all while the debt still goes up.

It’s all just BS anyway.
