She was a very pretty woman in her younger years. President Ford was a handsome young man, and together they had good-looking children. Some people are blessed in multiple ways.

She did good in a way that I’m sure she never expected to.
President’s wives often strive to leave a legacy. Hers was a powerful one.

I still care
(I miss my friends, bagels, and the NYC skyline - but not the taxes. I love the South.)

RIP, Mrs Ford. She was the first First Lady I remember very well.
Still o word on the WH website...

However, Bush 41 & 43 have made statements.Say what one will about 41 and 43, but they are the personification of class.

Obama has NONE of the characteristics of a President...
He is an example of a selfish, ME party person who likes to golf and vacation...our Nation is sinking in debt and yet he parties and golfs...
hurry up 2012

RIP and God Bless Her for all the help she gave to the lost souls and the suffering.

(She lived to 93 just like her husband.)

Pretty sure it's standard protocol for ex-presidents and their wives to attend such funerals:
This is Nixon's funeral.

I know that. Wishful thinking on my part.

Oh. Well, wish for something else, I suppose.
In other news, the White House released its official statement at around 11:00:
Throughout her long and active life, Elizabeth Anne Ford distinguished herself through her courage and compassion. As our nations First Lady, she was a powerful advocate for womens health and womens rights. After leaving the White House, Mrs. Ford helped reduce the social stigma surrounding addiction and inspired thousands to seek much-needed treatment. While her death is a cause for sadness, we know that organizations such as the Betty Ford Center will honor her legacy by giving countless Americans a new lease on life.
Today, we take comfort in the knowledge that Betty and her husband, former President Gerald Ford, are together once more. Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to their children, Michael, John, Steven, and Susan.

Very sweet lady, and tough as nails. I was fortunate enough to have met her several times and worked some of the same fundraisers with her in Palm Springs.
She will be missed.

How ‘mature’ most women were during that era. Nicely dressed, hair and nails manicured. Now, someone of her age has tatoos all over their bodies and will tell you to ‘F’ off quicker than a bolt of lightening sticking.
*sigh*
(btw & however...I’m in the league about telling someone to ‘F’ off-especially since 11/04/2008)

Well now I’m thoroughly disgusted. If true, she was a POS wrapped in fine linen. So I wonder, when approaching the Creator of the Universe, if saying “I did all these good things...oh btw, I was for butchering babies because, well you know Lord, babies can be such a ‘barrier’ for women” will still open the door to paradise...
Sickening...

I’m sorry for her loved ones but am glad her support for the ERA didn’t pan out.
