About 25 years ago the police were being real jerks in a city in northern Michigan. The millage came due and they laid off 6 of the eight police officers. They had to put on a huge P.R. campaign to get their jobs back. After that the police were a whole lot more civil for a time.
We don’t need to be afraid of the police if we can still let them know we are their bosses. Problem is now they take every thing you have for minor infraction or first time offenses and no longer need to get taxes from the people.
