I do not think that Perry will factor his presidential aspirations into the decision. This decision will be no different than other clemency requests. Unless Perry is convinced that the individual deserves mercy or a trial issue has not been resolved fairly, he will not intervene. I highly doubt that he will intervene. He will not be influenced by our Dear Leader’s request.

Exactly. Besides Perry has been to this dance before, just a couple years ago. Jose Ernesto Medellin was put down in 2008.

I disagree. If he backs down he will look impotent in his agenda against Washington. I actually see this as a Obama vs. Perry event.
