“Looks like a stunt to me. A high profile (former) missing person to report missing persons cases?”
Sounds like she will be doing what Greta use to do when she first came to FOX. Designated tabloid news reporter focusing on stories of beautiful or famous people, missing, dead, or in trouble with the law. Hooks people in by huge numbers. I call it the OJ syndrome, and news now days is all about TV ratings.

Looks like a stunt to me.
How so. Wouldn't Elizabeth Smart be an expert on the topic?
A high profile (former) missing person to report missing persons cases?
Uh-huh, like I said, an expert. Exactly.

She will be able to ride on her name for exactly one showing. Then she actually has to do a good job or be canned.
Really? You have it down to that fine of a science, eh? "Exactly one". Not 2 or 3, but "exactly one". Or is it that's just the way you want it to be?

Before you start criticizing one's eduction, perhaps you might want to brush up on your capitalization and spelling skills.
In the meantime, how does her eduction disqualify her from being an expert on missing person cases?

I may get blasted on this site, but ever since the story of her abduction broke, something didnt sit right with me. It still doesnt. Her father seemed to be a media hound and the facts didnt seem to line up. Even when she was found, she was in a position all along to escape. I dont believe we have the whole story, IMHO, there was a wllingness or a manipulation for her to go with him. OK blast away!
Hey, I think you might be on to something! I'll bet this was a conspiracy cooked up between the father, the kidnappers, and Elizabeth just like you are insinuating! "Honey, go with this nice man and his lovely wife. Let him do whatever he likes with you...night after night...wander homelessly with them through the wilderness...I know you're only 14...but maybe someday you'll get a job with ABC and it will all be worth it!"
Yeah, genius, they almost had us fooled until you exposed their diabolical plot!

She was a victim of a kidnapping. That hardly makes her an expert on the subject of missing persons.

Tell me, when exactly did it hit you how idiotic that statement is? Was it right after you posted it? Or is it still sinking in? You know since she WAS a "missing person" and all. Good grief.

elizabeth smart ==> ATTENDED Brigham Young University - major ---> harp GEORGE: (Reading) I see here that you play the harp.. tell me, why do you have to tilt it? Can't you just build it on an angle? It'd save you a lot of trouble.
STUDENT 2: Well, the modern-day harp has been refined over thousands of years-
GEORGE: (Annoyed) Yeah, yeah. We'll, uh, let you know.

No, the kind of ‘’manipulation’’ I see is two very naive and frankly, stupid parents who thought it would be a good Christian thing to do and bring home street bums, winos and other assorted weirdos , let them do ‘’odd jobs’’ around the house while scoping out your 14 year old daughter. If you ask me those two need one upside the head and a big dose of common sense.

You’ve actually got me confused with someone who cares what a moron like you thinks. About anything. Screw off.

I believe the MORON in the discussion would be the one who doesn't consider someone "missing" if the reason they missing is because they were kidnapped. Kinda hard to follow that logic there. Oh, and another tip; if you don't care what someone thinks and just want them to "screw off", don't engage them in conversation in the first place. When you talk to people, we have a habit of responding. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it eventually.
