I’d be thrilled to death to see some shared sacrifice. Let those parasites who aren’t paying any income tax at all pony up. I got no problem with raising taxes, I just disagree with Obama on whose should be.

We now have several generations of some families who have never had any other source of income other than the public dole...and it is seen as a lifestyle choice, not a stigma.
We now know that generation after generation feel it is the obligation of working people to subsidize their non-productive and destructive life styles. Not only do they not work, they do not take advantage of education and a myriad of programs designed to change their lives; but they often choose a life style that further taxes the working people by using drugs, having children they cannot support, stealing from the productive and spending years in prison. It is a doubly toxic mix.
There will always be poor people. If the average income were a million dollars and some people only made $500,000.00, those people would be considered poor. Being in the bottom income bracket is “poor”, regardless of what that state of being is.
It actually is time for the poor to start carrying some of the load.

I view that as people trying to save their jobs, not voluntary sacrificing.

unions were forced into that option, did not go willingly nor was it their own suggestion.

Truth be told, the poor do carry some of the load in the form of sin taxes and lotteries. But the government needs to get out of the business of giving tax refunds to people who don’t pay taxes. That’s just ignorant.

Tax the rich, tax Washington DC. Why Washington DC? Check the per capita GDP of DC and you’ll find it is about twice as much as the nearest state. DC is rich! Tax the rich, tax DC.
