The final package probably won't go so far. But people are really angry about this and coming up on an election year, lawmakers may not want to risk voting against it.
Whether it passes or not, a lot of people I know won't fly commercial anymore. They've taken to contacting people with small GA aircraft and working out a deal, like paying for food, fuel, and a room for them for the night. A lot of times they come out a lot cheaper. Besides that, you can get a good used Cessna or Maule for 30-50k and just pay for fuel and the upkeep and find a pilot.

We are not flying commercial again until this problem gets resolved. My fiancee’ is not going to his uncle’s memorial service next month because he says if they try to grope him he will clock somebody. If we absolutely have to fly somewhere we will pay the money to fly Executive Jet.
