While she may have been happy about her son, this business that she was looking forward to a future with sociopath bigamist Barry Sr. is obviously a complete lie, as the bulk of the article makes plain. However, it's possible that SAD was telling her Seattle friends this fable because the truth was too uncomfortable.
SAD married a couple of honesty-challenged individuals between Barak Sr. and Lolo Soetoro. I don’t see much to indicate that she was a very honest person either. Her situation with being dumped with a “little punishment” (as Obama says), would provide plenty of motive for SAD to twist the truth about her situation and how she described it to her friend. Obviously Barak Sr. had no intention of being with her as husband and wife. She was either fooling herself and trying to cover up that she was “very single” when she had him.
