wasn’t it incredible?
the kid is in the laundry bag and garbage bag with tape, and they’re getting distracted with exact cause of death? really?
And how exactly did she get there?
It’s the prosecution’s fault because they could “only” present evidence the child had been dead in the trunk. They must’ve been negligent by not providing video footage.
I think critics are right when they say everyone is expecting a csi show, and let down when they don’t get one.
Critical thinking is lacking in this country.
BUT the biggest problem with this case is indeed the jurors........one had a husband who died in jail. and SHE can be trusted as a juror? did you see the list of jurors and the things that came up with them. how about a high school diploma being needed.....how can you assess evidence if you never even graduated from high school?
Last night the forensic scientist who is the brain behind Bones was on Joy Behar’s show and said the CSI affect is so bad right now she is holding a symposium with nations prosecutors to discuss how they deal with it.
A few months ago I was called for jury duty on a civil case over a car accident. When we got into deliberations, one of the jurors wanted to know why there was no DNA to tell us what happened.
She believed DNA was a (no, I’m unfortunately not kidding) just “like a DVD that can be put into a player to watch what happened”. She had seen that on a movie or television show, she could not remember, and argued with us that we should demand the DNA to “watch”.
We eventually did not award any monies to the woman who sued but arguing with the juror and her DNA fantasy took hours. The shear stupidity and ignorance of people is astounding, shocking and frankly afraid for this nation.
