I remember the time my first toddler went missing in the house. I freaked out. She’d fallen asleep under the sideboard in the dining room. She’s now 35, but I’ll never forget that horrible feeling, and I can tell the minor details of that experience. You just never forget.

Perhaps Casey who seems more than a little short of a full load also found her daughter missing and lost most of what little she started out with. Perhaps she became unhitched by her daughter missing and her mind refused to believe that she really was missing and even after it became obvious to her that her daughter wasn't coming home her mind continued to believe that she was missing but would someday return.

She did display shock when she was shown pictures of her deceased daughter. Perhaps after lying to herself for so long she finally accepted the truth.

Unfortunately we will never what thoughts were running through her mind or how sane she was and became after her daughter was missing.

It seems like her family itself was very messed up and being raised in that family didn't allow her to develop correctly in her mental capacity.
