An alternate juror in the Casey Anthony trials has said that he believes that Anthony was a good mother and that two-year-old Caylee’s death was just a horrific accident.
The sensational acquittal of Casey Anthony sparked outrage across the U.S. as angry spectators compared the trial’s outcome to the infamous verdict in the OJ Simpson case.
But Russell Huekler, one of five alternate jurors who were present for all the testimony and were sequestered with the 12 other jurors, said he would have given the same verdict and is stunned by the public anger.

I admit I wanted to make a remark back, but see it is fruitless to make idiots understand anything.
When the whole purpose of jury selection is to find the 12 dumbest people possible to serve this is what you get.
However, from what I’ve heard and read the prosecutor failed to prove the case—because of incompetence and/or lack of credible evidence.
My own personal take, in the absence of any other info, is the child got into the pool and drowned. The mother, a serial and long time liar, paniced. She tried to make it look like someone drowned her child then carried the little girl in a trash bag into the woods.
The mother may be guilty of evidence tampering and perhaps child neglect (she many not have been keeping track of her kid), but she did not kill the child.
Frankly, I never heard a credible motive posited. And the mother’s story got so convoluted that at some point you have to wonder where it all was leading. I’m a big fan of the KISS principle. The injection of chloroform into the story seems to have come from the lying mother. But, as far as I know there was never any evidence that it was used. The coroner’s report indicated death by drowning as I recall. Don’t know how quickly the body decomposes chloroform. Is two days in the woods sufficient to make it undetectable? I don’t know. Bottom line: The whole thing sounds like a pathological liar just making things up as she went along.
I suspect an ambitious prosecutor saw a chance to convict this flawed woman in as sensational murder case. He lost sight of reality.
Unless a “smoking gun” appears pointing to the mother murdering her child I think all of this is just a tragic accident.

I tell you I was out of my mind with TERROR, it was only a split second and she was gone. She had wandered down to the other street and up to the highway. A young boy saw her, took her to his home and called police, just about the same time I called them. She came home ok. BUT, it can happen in a flash.
Point, is ALL GOOD MOTHERS will panic and call Police the minute they go missing.
Casey did not, she LIED for 6 months about Caylee all the while she partied.

That's false, there was no cause of death by the coroner! How can they have a drowning as cause when there was no soft tissue left to examine???? It was a skeleton!!! See how rumors get started??
You’re right of course. But it’s very often impossible to “shake the dust from thy feet” when you can try one more argument.
I was on an attempted murder, guy was guilty, evidence proved it. We got back in the jury room and one gal voted not guilty. When we asked why she said...well they didn’t proved blah blah blah. I said yes they did. It was WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING!

Please don't reply with "there wasn't a cause of death"!!! There was no cause of death of Laci Peterson either, but Scott is on death row! The killers hope the bodies aren't found til they are skeletinized, therefore, no evidence of cause of death!!!!

My son went to the shopping center across the street. Thankfully, the security guard recognized him, called the police, all the all while telling them I was a good mother and something must be wrong. I thank God every day for that kind man. And, that we were in Texas and not San Diego. I had not called the police yet because I was looking for him in the complex (ran to the pool). A man driving down the street, heard me calling his name, pulled in and told me he had seen him. I cannot, to this day, believe how it all went. God was so good to me.

the csi crowd think it’s actually possible to have perfect gotchya forensic evidence and that circumstantial evidence isn’t any good.
Many cases have been won with less evidence because other juries used this thing called COMMON SENSE.
