While I don't discount your conclusion “that our current uptick in activity could very well be associated with the demise of the Farallon Plate” at all, I leans towards a causation that is cyclic in nature such as maybe a periodically occurring increase in geothermal activity. This could tie-in nicely with the occurrence of ice-ages though these instead may be caused by a decreased in solar activity, earth precession or combination of all of the above. lol

I considered that but....there are few reports that are totally intriguing to me...

One the quake last year along the subduction area of the farallon in mexico. The quake in Haiti. The quake recently in Japan and also the quake at the Kulu subduction area in Aleutians. Now take that along with the reports of off shore humming as well in Ohio, Florida Quebec and eastern pa and NJ.

Now at in the quake swarms from Arkansas, Quebec and Ohio and well I can paint a pretty concise picture using the demise of the Farallon and what that would mean to bordering plates and intercontinental noise....lol
