Trying to stop the layoffs of at least 6,000 workers, union leaders are asking Gov. Dannel Malloy to come back to the table to work out a concession agreement that will get passed by state workers.
On Tuesday, the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition sent a letter to Malloy asking to reopen talks.
Larry Dorman, a SEBAC said the leaders are not necessarily asking to "renegotiate" the labor savings and concessions agreement that failed to garner enough support for ratification.
SEBAC leaders have not said specifically what would be part of a new concession agreement, but they are optimistic they would be able to get something voted on.

LOL, “Malloy the Lib” doesn’t wanna...
“The threat of massive layoffs was promoted after state workers voted down Malloy’s concession deal that would have saved $1.6 billion.”
F’em. The ideal outcome would be that everyone who voted it down get laid-off and end up in bankruptcy.

The unions want Malloy to raise taxes higher than the 2 billion he already slammed on Ct. That was their position all along.
Malloy billed himself as the “anti Christie”..pffftttt
It’s hard to find an article that puts the words “greedy” and “union” together. It would be appropriate to do it in ths case, but the article doesn’t do it. So I’ll do it for them.
Greedy unions
ideal outcome will be.......they get laid off....collect for 2 years and get hired back 1st after it all blows over....
I was born and raised in a union state. When I left Michigan, I knew I would never go back.I bought the only “new” car I ever owned on Guam.It was a Nissan.
I laughed over the last few decades at people who wondered why all the good paying jobs were outsourced overseas.
Starting wage for an 18 year old unskilled labor hire in 1976 in Pontiac on the union assembly lines?
$25.00 an hour, plus health and retirement benefits.
It was surreal, and unsustainable.
It was also a corrupt hiring process.
Just like current government employee union wages.
Surreal, unsustainable and corrupt.
In Connecticut, thanks matt04.
It’s been interesting to see these union clowns dance around trying to figure out how to weasel another deal.
F’em. Your membership voted it down, pink slips all around.
“Shared Sacrifice”, yeah right. OK, if the unions want to renegotiate their role in the budget, we, the taxpayer, want to renegotiate our part.
“Fem. The ideal outcome would be that everyone who voted it down get laid-off and end up in bankruptcy.”
Yep, agreed.
They realized they just voted down their golden opportunity.
Now, because this guy Malloy is a stinking lib, he’ll probably meet with them.
But he should tell them, you had your chance, now kiss the dues of those 6K members bye-bye.
The Democrats dont care about the Rules when things dont work out their way,Just CHANGE the Rules. This State is Corrupt,it is completely controlled by democrats and this is what you get,MASSIVE tax increases for the private sector working Class and the Government elites Renegotiate to keep their big fat Pensions, job security, raises and what do we have to say about it in the United States Of America? NOTHING
Yeah they share our paychecks, we get to sacrifice.
