What did Barack do on the 4th? I don’t remember seeing anything in the news, not even a golf outing.
I assume Michelle and the girls were vacationing somewhere out of this country.
Actually, he did something right on the 4th. Had a picnic for vets on the White House lawn.
Just as Obama, in all likelihood, had that bust replaced with one of Joe Stalin, Obama now, in all likelihood, had his "American" Ambassadors somewhere commiserating with Gorbachev over Reagan having collapsed the "last great hope of humanity" for Obama and his ilk.

They hosted a picnic at the White House for soldiers and their families. They hung around for the fireworks display afterward. Real heavy lifting there. And so much dedication to helping solve the budget crisis and figuring out a way to encourage job creation.
