I’m not sure though the verdict has been rendered- I’ll ask out legal begale what she thinks.
Would there be any remedy IF the jury deliberation was done with an eye toward the punishment phase rather than JUST the facts that go toward their finding of not-guilty or guilty?
Juror #3 made a statement that’s kind of disturbing:
Casey Anthony juror Jennifer Ford said today that she and the other jurors cried and were “sick to our stomachs” after voting to acquit Casey Anthony of charges that she killed her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. “I did not say she was innocent,” said Ford, who had previously only been identified as juror number 3. “I just said there was not enough evidence. If you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be.
Anyone watching HLN? Someone just reported that Casey had been offered a lot of money to do a triple x porn flick, but the company rescinded the offer because it was decided that NO ONE WOULD WANT TO WATCH IT, not even a porn flick!
That juror is already morphing/retracting her statement to make the “punishment” phrase more palatable. Hope it’s on tape.
All she said there was that the prosecution did not prove the elements of the crime, that’s the appropriate inquiry. Secondly, it would be on the prosecutor to make any such argument, and I highly doubt anyone in that office would have the stomach to do so, given the monumental loss they just suffered. And even less likely that anything would come of it.
