Peterson was convicted of killing his pregnant wife based on circumstantial evidence: affair ; lies; took his boat out on ~ the day his wife disappeared ; concrete in the garage- seemingly molded into a weight; body buried at sea; and it washed up decomposed, so a cause of death was not ascertainable. Peterson is on death row.
IIRC, those praising this Anthony acquittal did not say, “but we don’t have a cause of death, so how can we convict Peterson of murder?”. Or, “just because he’s a slut doesn’t mean he killed her. Maybe it was an
accident. Maybe some random person did it.”
We have as you say dumbed down the culture so much - and thrown so much ‘”reality TV” at people - that the ability to think logically is disappearing. If you don’t see it happen, it didn’t.
Casey got off when Peterson didn’t because Casey is female. It is called The Female Discount in Sentencing.

Also, I maintain that if Casey were a man, we would be looking at the death penalty. Of that, I have no doubt.
There was also less evidence against the guy who murdered Chandra Levy then there was against Casey Anthony..Chandra’s body was in the park for a YEAR..a whole YEAR and no one accused the person who found the remains to have planted them for financial gain..the guy was convicted of murder and rape..but but, how can you tell it was rape, it was just human remains, but the guy was convicted..Scott Peterson, convicted on less evidence then this..Susan Smith should have gotten off if you really look at it, if she had used the Casey Anthony defense she would be walking the streets right now..
Excellent comparison. There is as much if not more evidence here as for Scott Peterson.
It’s ridiculous for people like sean Hannity to be so sure the prosecutors did not make their case. Common sense is still something to rely on. You don’t only need a video of the perp committing the crime. I find it insane to see how many people on tv actually agree with this verdict.
There is no way anyone but Casey did this premeditated murder. Maybe they should never have gone for the death penalty, that would be a mistake they made. But there is no way the baby was not murdered. And every sign points to Casey.
