The plain and simple fact of this case is the prosecution blew it big time. They had a weak case to begin with, presented what evidence in a haphazard manner to the point that the theory of their case was constantly shifting throughout the trial and ending up in the embarrassing position of being caught laughing at the opposing side during closing arguments and finally nearly begging for a verdict on the final close.
The jury can only deal with what is presented to them and as the saying goes garbage in - garbage out.
The prosecutor alone is to blame for this travesty.
If you're arguing that the criminal defense attorneys did a better job in selecting a stupid jury that would buy their case, then I'm not disagreeing with you there. Fact is, even with that, no reasonable person can listen to the evidence in this case and *not* conclude that Casey was 100% guilty. There was no more evidence presented to the jury in the Scott Peterson murder of his wife Laci, and the jury got that one right. Or, do you believe there was stronger evidence against Scott than against Casey? Basically, all they had on him was a bunch of lies and a bunch of circumstantial evidence...the same as for Casey, no more, no less.
Geraldo is partying with them!

Casey Anthony defense team partying across from courthouse
Two hours after the jury returned multiple not guilty verdicts in the Casey Anthony murder trial, lead attorneys Jose Baez, Cheney Mason along with their associates could be seen toasting one another with champagne, celebrating the exoneration of their client.
CNNs Headline News Jane Velez Mitchell followed the now, infamous criminal defense attorneys to the Terrace 390 restaurant just across the street from the Orange County courthouse, but could not get inside as private security guards have been posted outside.
An angry crowd has also gathered outside the restaurant, expressing disbelief at the verdict and anger over Casey Anthonys lawyers celebrating as little Caylee Anthony lies dead in her grave, after her body was found like so much garbage in a Florida swamp.
The judge more or less made the Prosecution accept at least one and supposedly more of the jurors that were seated. One based on a race card played by Baez. My opinion of the judge is dropping fast.
But. that isn't mu argument at all. I am saying that the prosecutor didn't do a very good job of trying this case.
I am also saying that when juries come to incorrect conclusions, the lawyer is at fault - not the jury.
The one exception to this is the OJ trial, where racism on the part of the jury controlled the verdict.
