I know what you say is right but having experienced the murdered or my brother in 1987 get off with a misdemeanor has me tihnking one sided. One good thing though. The woman whop was in on it (who we think had a life insurance policy on him) is now in Denver state prison serving 3 consecutive 30 year sentences. Be 30 years before she gets out. The man is on the FBI list of drug dealers. Still looking for him.

I agree it’s hardly a perfect system but I do think it’s better than the alternative of lowering the standards of culpability required for conviction and accidentally wrongfully imprisoning the innocent. It is absolutely reprehensible that so many criminals roam the streets due to cracks in our legal system but without these cracks, in some odd way, far more innocent people would be sent off to prison.
