Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.

I no longer have much faith in this judge at all. Besides his skeezy sex affair with a staffer and paying her off with $65,000 not to sue him, I’ve heard he more or less stacked this jury and forced jurors on the Prosecution that they did not want and who should never have been allowed to sit on this particular jury.
“But, IF somebody else DID do away with little Caylee while she was under her mother’s care, is it just coincidence that Casey didn’t want Caylee found and even lied, for over 30 days, to avoid her being found?”
At law mere flight from a crime scene is not an admission of guilt because it is more prejudicial than probative. Arguably the same standard applies here. So she was a crazy partier and undeniably a bad mother. Even if she didnt kill her who do you think the police would suspect first? The mom who is out partying all the time. What would she have to gain from reporting the dead daughter even if she didn’t do it? By contrast by hiding it she could at least hope no one would ever discover it. That and I assume most parents don’t think rationally when seeing their child dead. Again though I think she killed her but the jury wasn’t presented with enough evidence to show it beyond a reasonable doubt.
“What are the odds that someone would kidnap and kill your child and, you don’t report it or even act like anything negative happened at all? What are the odds that would happen?”
The law looks not at odds but reasonableness of possibilities. Although the odds are small it couldn’t be shown beyond a reasonable doubt that she indeed did it.
AWESOME..glad that Casey is going to get what is coming to her in regards to that..she won’t be able to not testify in a defamation case..now THAT is gonna be awesome..karma eventually will catch up to that murdering sociopath
Cindy and George helped Casey get away with the murder of their baby grandchild. Neither of them ever reported her theft (big $ amounts) to the police before. So thinking those two would ever sue the “little monster” they themselves made is to look at their family dynamic as though they are normal people. The Anthony’s are not a normal family and that is a generous way of stating it on my part.

It really is unbelievable to me that there managed to be 12 people of the same irresponsible mindset to serve on this one jury. I believe they did not follow the admonitions they were given by the judge, the rules of deliberation, or their common sense. They were in a hurry to get out and be done with it. Didn’t even make a pretense of asking to review any of the evidence. You don’t deliberate in two 5 hour segments without asking for notes or evidence and come to a legitimate verdict. Shame on them. I’m sick over it too.

Did you read the August 10, 2008 email from Cindy's brother Rick? He presented almost the EXACT DEFENSE Baez presented as a plausible "accidental" drowning death and told his sister to follow his exact scenario.
Read between the lines of that email, he is giving Casey her way out...and they took it and ran with it!

I agree with you about this- Jeff Ashton just now in an interview alluded to the same- he said it would have been too much hearsay because no one would own up to the fight.
There’s a lot we don’t now- but guess what- Zanny The Nanny has filed her suit against Casey for July 19th- Casey will be DEPOSED and have to ANSWER QUESTIONS about Caylee etc.
It will never end.
I am a grandmother. I would lay down my life for my grandson in a second. If my daughter ever did anything to him I would report her myself. I would never ever cover for her if she took my grandchild’s life, whether inadvertently or not. It seemed as if George and Cindy loved Caylee. How could it be that 3 people who by all that is human, not love this little girl enough to want justice for her by covering her murder? I don’t buy it. Just because they let their daughter get away with taking money, etc. I can’t make that leap to murder cover-up. I raised a defiant bi-polar child and to outsiders it may have “looked” like we “let” her get away with defying us but trust me, it was not for lack of trying. I don’t like it when people judge and they just haven’t walked in one’s footsteps. They haven’t lived in the house and seen the day to day. I can understand it, but I don’t think it is fair.

This needs to get out there - talk radio, whatever - to expose this farce. There will be a LOT of people who should have known better with egg on their faces.
But we will still have a dead baby, no killer behind bars, and no justice.
I understand your reasoning. Based on the prosecution’s case I could not have found her guilty of Capital murder either. Unfortunately. But, I think there is sufficient proof of guilt as to the manslaughter or at very least the lesser charge of child abuse. She needs to pay for her careless disregard for this child’s life. Justice demands it imo.
It might not be criminal (unless they swore under oath), but it could cause embarrassment and expose them all as being the same liar she.
The State still has to prove each element of the CHARGE.
The FACTS that the jury decides are not "what really happened", they are "did the State prove 1, 2, 3...."
It does not matter if the jurors think Casey killed Caylee. What matters is, did the State of Florida prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the elements of the various charged offenses were true.
