Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.
Not all of us have a faith as strong as yours. I wish I did, but I don’t.
Then it should've been easy then for Casey to clear this all up on the witness stand, come clean, and not risk the death penalty, right? I'm embarrassed that you are a member of this forum, as I'm sure most others would agree.
Just make sure when you murder someone to throw them in the woods and tell everyone a nanny stole them and lie to the cops until there is no evidence left. Walk away scott free!
Your perspective is one that also crossed my mind.
I am sorry if my response to your post was snarky. I am focusing on many very emotional comments on freep. Your post was very sincere and based on reflective observations.
It IS very possible that Casey had been abusive to the child, and yes, soemtimes one can see that in the eyes..and we did only have certain “happy “ tapes.
thank you for taking the time to respond, even if my comment was snarky.
“Are you talking about the unethical sleazy attorney who won at all cost by throwing out a lie with no evidence to back it up?!”
I understand your frustration, and I am not defending defense attorneys (or this particular one), but coming up with a strategy, any strategy that can get their client off is what their job is. We would like to think that their job is to assist the prosecution in finding the truth, but under our system this is not what they are asked to do. It’s a flawed system, but it’s the best one we have.
Baez knew who the jurors were and what tactic would work.
All he needed to do was confuse them and distract from the evidence.
Also of note, you talk about the alternate juror speaking for the group and what they thought. (I have read this elsewhere, also) UH OH. Apparently they did not adhere to the admonitions of Judge Perry about not speaking amongst themselves about the case.
This alternate juror was not involved in deliberations, so how is it that he can speak for the other jurors and what they thought????
Well I agree Calif is full of whackos, but I’m only blaming the Anthony’s on being too lenient with Casey. No way do I think they had anything to do with Caylee death or hiding it.
Where the jury selection came from....

Accidents that result in death have consequences. Well, sometimes they do anyway.
The jurors heard that and decided a case on a LIE from a sleazy unethical piece of crap according to the alternate juror. Is that what our justice system has come to? REALLY?!
I would think that sterilization should be something strongly suggested to her for obvious and selfish reasons...
I mean, look at all of this...The life taken was one that was not wanted in the first place by the mother, much less the father of the child...
It just took longer to abort the life created, for lack of a better term...
Don’t get me wrong, I am not a rabid pro-life bible thumping anti-abortionist...
I just realize the simple moral aspects of the declining social and moral values this country and other places around the globe champion...
And it is not just the female of the species here, it is also the males who tend to view sexual conquests as notches on the handle of their guns...
My views were solidified the day Andrea Yates drowned ALL of her kids here...I was working at NASA at the time and I had a very close work relationship with her husband Russell...Talk about a true black hole...That guy could suffocate anyone with his empty, souless personality...And it took the public death of his children to kinda tie it all up and you step back and go, “Oh yeah, now it makes sense...”
Casey Anthony is pretty much in the same boat as Russel Yates (Andrea) and others who we have seen in recent history that have no compulsion and a low sense of right and wrong, with no ideas about options and other non-life threatening solutions to “irritations” to their sensibilities...
If you don’t think you can put up with the irritations of conception, birth and the upbringing of a life you create...Make a choice...Don’t get busy, just to do it...
A life is not a notch on yer gun, and abortion is NOT a means of contraception, just because you cannot deal with the choice you made to haver sex in the first place...
Casey Anthony is a poor excuse for a life herself...Maybe what she needs to do is reflect on the idea that what if her mother just couldn’t deal with her, and made the descision to end her life in the same manner???
The flip side of this situation kinda sucks for her (Casey Anthony) in this case...
Just my opinion...
BTW do you believe Mumia or Charlie Manson should be in prison?
“.... but Im only blaming the Anthonys on being too lenient with Casey.”
I would bet a lot of money that Cindy Anthony is a narcissistic abusive mother who hurt her children in multiple ways.. This doesn’t in any way excuse Casey of anything, but the roots of dysfunction in this family go very deep. I don’t for a second think of Cindy as a loving committed mother and grandmother who was ‘just too good’ to her daughter. IMHO the truth is very, very far from that presumption.
EXACTLY!
NONE of them obviously listened to the evidence or what they were suppose to ignore which was not proved in court!
They THINK it was an accident that spiraled out of control... IDIOTS!
And,yes, how did that alternate juror know what any of them thought.
I agree and it will probably be her future husband (if there’s one in the cards}. Why should she go through the hassle of divorce when she can murder him?
Yeah...me too.
Maybe she was waiting for the child to go under, either by the drug as you suggest, or the chloroform, and Casey was anxious to get to the party.
so in anger she wrapped the kid’s head over and over and maybe the child then quieted down, obviously, maybe she died from suffocation.
I will always believe that Casey killed that little girl and I lean greatly toward some kind of accidental death.
I suppose the jury could have, even should have...some besides the irrational ones on this thread, might intelligently argue...been convicted for negligent manslaughter.
I stand by my assertion that the prosecution should have narrowed it down and not thrown so much out there at a jury that would get overwhelmed.
And there really was very little physical evidence, I mean no one even knows how the kid died for God’s sake. That’s hardly a case for a capital crime.
Then they got the grandparents working against the prosecutor and it was all a tangled mess.
When this trial began I was sure that Casey killed that little girl, albeit by accident as I considered. As the trial wore on I just go so confused and I will always argue that the defense did a bang up job of...defending.
The prosecution’s big mistake was its position taken at the very beginning of this thing....throw it all out there and let the jury decide. The prosecution, and justice for Caylee, would have been better served if the prosecution had they came up with a most plausable and provable scenario and built their case around it.
As I see it, of course, not that having a different opinion doesn’t bring out the nuts on this forum.
Whose fingerprints were found on the duct tape?
You are right. You may be coming around. I do not think this case is over yet. Too many unanswered questions. Especially when it comes to George. I have said from the start it is a bungled investigation driven by the media template.
