Happy Anniversary Jimmy.
Celebrate it the rest of the year and stay out of politics.
I congratulate them.
Shut up, Jimmy, and stay out of national/international affairs.
I agree. Whatever I may think of them and/or their politics, having 65 years of marriage is an amazing achievement in this day and age.
You forgot about Buchanan..
Well good for them. I am glad they are married to each other. NO SENSE SCREWING UP TWO MARRIAGES!
He is certainly not worthy of continued mention or recognition, here or elsewhere. He will go to his grave grasping for validity. What a disgrace.
I will give them their due. Unlike most leaders in their party who can’t seem to keep their pants zipped, Jimmy and Rosalynn have led a relatively stable married life.
Happy Anniversary, you two.
Now, please shut up.
What’s scary is that they now look alike. Should Rosalynn be considered for sainthood?
Effing America together for 65 years. They are living proof that only the good die young.
He should NEVER have been president, and only became so due to Watergate. He was canvassing neighborhoods long before he was a household name. Went to my grandmother’s house in Florida and introduced himself and said he was running for pres way before primaries, etc. He set his sights and milked the moment.
Ros Carter never really wanted him to go back to the peanut farm after his Navy stint. She loved the military life and resented his decision to go back to the farm. She said she did not speak to him on the entire ride back to Georgia when he left the Navy as a young man.
I think he was bored with farming and that is why he strayed into politics. Had he stayed in the military, history would have been changed.
Just like everyone and everything else else in life...the road not taken...or taken.
