The video of Mark Shields sputtering because he had NO ANSWER for the challenge as to why the Democrats have produced NO BUDGET is must see video.
HAPPY 4TH, PJ!
I was watching C-SPAN a few weeks ago when Ryan asked the head of the CBO what was the deficit under the Obama FY-2012 budget. CBO said, “We can’t score a speech.” That needs to be amplified and repeated every time the Dems start criticizing the House budget. Supposedly, the Senate Dems may be releasing a budget this week. That will be interesting if it happens.
My admiration for Mr. Krauthammer has only increased over time. He is so intelligent, well-read, and full of “common sense” (not so common anymore) that it amazes me. And he appears very fair. I believe if the dems ever came up with a workable, common-sense plan, he would support them without a qualm. God Bless you Mr. Krauthammer! Thanks for being you!
Perhaps he would have said more, but Shields
never let him get more than 9 words in.
The Democrats have failed to prepare a budget
since April 3, 2009 which was 27 months ago.
They don't have to because all Democrats are above all Law.
The DNC has no budget, but they do have a plan
which consists of the destruction of what once
was America: Freedom, Truth, Justice, Equality and Peace.
Mark’s response to Krauthammer was, “the dealing with Biden and the senators and congressman is there”, which Krauthammer’s response should have been: The American people want a concrete budget plan, not a dealing with Biden, senators and congressman. The American people want a concrete budget plan, not Obama dealing with this person or that person and not Obama’s examples of voting present, they want a concrete budget plan presented to them so they can decide!
Every single R candidate should be POUNDING the airwaves with this simple fact and Obummer’s failure to lead in this area. POUND POUND POUND POUND POUND!!!

The reason we never saw a budget for the fiscal year soon ending (2011) nor will we for the next year (2012) out of the Democrats is that they put all the money they would ever need into the FY 2010 budget, Obama’s first budget. That, plus the stimulus money, bumped federal spending up to near 25% of GDP and they are more than happy with that level of spending. The fact that it can’t be financed without massive borrowing doesn’t seem to bother them. The reason all we’re hearing out of them is that we need to raise taxes is because all the borrowing bothers the rest of us, even many Dems.
That’s why all they need are more Continuing Resolutions, that keep spending at current levels, and that’s why the House Republicans have to keep saying “No.” Each Continuing Resolution from here on needs to include significant budget cuts, and they should only let them cover another 3-4 months at a time. They can use the intervening period to locate more cuts for the next Continuing Resolution. That way we keep the high spending of the Dems and their massive borrowing, as well as their continual cry for raising taxes, on the front burner into the 2012 election.
Then, if we can get a Republican majority and President in 2012, we can get back to budgeting reality instead of the World of Disney. It’s not rational to expect the Dems and Obama to agree to enough cuts at one time to justify passing a bill that extends past 2012. It would be perceived by the media as too big a coup by the Republicans and isn’t going to happen for that reason.
Krauthammer--where is the plan where?
And of course Mark had no answer, just too good!!!
Its too bad we don't have any elected officials capable of doing what Krauthammer can do.
>>103 House Republicans have already gone on record as saying they will not vote to raise the debt ceiling unless there is a cap of eighteen percent of government spending, federal spending, which is seven percent below what we’re spending right now. In addition to that, they insist on a constitutional amendment and to cut spending by half, the deficit by half next year, all of which are impossible.<<
NOT impossible; actually it is quite easy. Cap all federal employess, elected or not, at $100K, no pensions, no benefits. Eliminate Departments of Energy, Education, HHS. Across the board reductions of 25% in DC employees. Repeal DeathCare. Close the borders, by force if necessary. No foreign aid to ANYBODY.
How’s that for starters?
Mark Shields? I thought he was dead.
