You cannot claim the right to liberty, without taking responsibility for the risks you want to undertake, and then have society assume responsibility for you, if it doesn’t turn out well for you.
That is a child’s viewpoint, to demand the right to pet the dog, but expect mommy to protect them when the dog snaps.
If you want to have the right to do what you want, you had better have the means to cover your sorry arse, because if you don’t thay means society is going to have to back you up and that means society has the right to demand you adhere to certain practices.

I specifically advocated taking responsibility along with the liberty.
To underscore the point I stated - as federal “safety net” programs fail it will result in an increase in the opportunities to take responsibility inherent with the right to liberty.
