Obama campaign to go on the offensive against conservative critics of Israel stance
Washington Post ^ | July 1, 2011 | Greg Sargent

Obama’s top presidential campaign advisers are putting together a plan to go on the offensive against critics of his stance on Israel, I’m told, and are assembling a team of high profile surrogates who are well respected in the Jewish community to battle criticism in the media and ensure that it doesn’t go unanswered.

Obama’s supporters say the plan is in effect an acknowledgment that conservative attacks on Obama’s Israel stance have made defections among Jewish voters and donors a possibility they must take seriously. Obama’s advisers see a need to push back even harder on the attacks than they did in 2008, in part because Obama now has a record on the issue to defend — a record that even Obama’s supporters concede has not been adequately explained.

A group of well-known figures in the Jewish community has been in discussions with senior Obama adviser David Axelrod about how to respond to the criticism, which is expected to intensify as the campaign heats up. Among them: Alan Solow, the former head of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations; former Congressmen Mel Levine and Robert Wexler; and executive Penny Pritzker.

God Almighty, creator of heaven and earth and man upon the earth, blesses those who bless Israel and curses those who curse Israel.

There is a fascinating book, I believe the title is "What America Has Done to Israel", which chronicles various disasters that hit the US immediately after this country took positions which were hostile to Israel. Also, I have to believe that the severity of this year's tornados and floods are connected to this as well.

The call of Jerusalem says you are wrong.

I'm not sure what that means. Could you explain?

Well I know Jewish Obama voters who are pro-Israel. The older Jewish libs are pro-Israel, very few are anti-Israel. The younger Jewish libs are divided between those who ignore Israel and those who support Israel. Some are anti Israel. Some are from mixed marriages so are on the fence I guess

“Why should I go against the American Jews and argue to spend billions of dollars we don’t have and thousands of American lives to defend what should be their country?”

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Because the Jews over here are deluded. They have no connection with Israel. The true Israelis in Israel are just trying to get on with life and be left alone. They want peace and freedom, and are hated by those who love tyranny.

The danger is Obama sending our troops to invade Israel as part of some UN action. If that happens God will curse us — it’s in the Bible and cannot be taken back.

If you love what America should be, and hope for our future, you must stand with Israel. Not only for them, but for us, for your family.

If we do not stand with Israel we will be destroyed.

I believe I need to clarify something. It seems to me that Jewish people in America are more liberal than those who live in Israel. Those in Israel face rocket attacks, the threat of invasion by Muslim nations, terror campaigns. They live it.

Many of the Jewish the folk here in the US side with the Democrats, which I cannot fathom. This group does not experience the onslaught that Israeli citizens do.

Again, I do not know why Jewish people in America embrace the Democrat Party. 0bama is not a supporter of Israel. In fact he has demonstrated the opposite. He is a Muslim sympathizer, stabbing Israel and other allies in the back.

I got a close look at her at the Newport News shipyard just before she went to the Norfolk Navy Base.
It wasn't long after the Gipper went on her first long cruise, rounding the Horn and visiting many Asian harbors before finally home-porting in San Diego.
South California and South Carolina ain't exactly neighbors so I didn't get another look but at least my boy moved back home when his hitch was over.
I never thought I would see a ship bigger than my Independence. The Reagan is about the same length as my old tub but the flight deck is more spacious and the hull a whole lot fatter—probably to help accommodate the co-ed berthing.I almost think my late dad's little carrier could have fit in her hangar bay.
As clean and shiny as battleship gray sides and boot black waterline can be.

The Washington Post’s leftwing mouthpiece, Greg Sargent, who they ostensibly pay to be an objective reporter is on twitter demanding that unions in Wisconsin get violent to get their way.

In what we can presume is unrelated to Greg Sargent’s call, a Fox News reporter was attacked by union thugs in Wisconsin.

Once it was pointed out on Twitter that Sargent was calling for unions to get violent in Wisconsin, Sargent declared he was not promoting violence despite actually writing on twitter:

Dear union thugs: Will you please get violent in Wisconsin already? Pretty please?

Obama still has at least 18 months to fulfill prophesy and bring the USA to it's knees and destroy Israel by 2012. I think Obama and his minions from Hell are right on schedule.

Obama is a clownish, cartoonish joke compared with the real thing. Do you really think that the inept moron in our White House could be the real Anti-Christ? I hate to play Devil's Advocate (or communist community organizer's advocate fore that matter), but an adversary worthy of the prophecy in Revelation will be intelligent, and it won't just be the animal cunning of a drug-addled thug. Obama ranks ranks with the campy TV villains compared to what we're going to face.

None of the above are capable of more than a trivial and symbolic challenge to good. Unfortunately, I expect a bit more from the Prince of Evil. What we're facing today is more like the Court Jester of Evil

Alan P. Solow is an American lawyer, Jewish leader and philanthropist. He is a partner at DLA Piper's bankruptcy group based in Chicago, and a Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. He is also a veteran supporter and a longtime friend of the United States President Barack Obama.

is a member of Aitz Hayim Center for Jewish Living located in Highland Park, Illinois

Solow was one of the earliest supporters and financial backers of President Barack Obama, since his 1994 campaign for the Illinois State Senate, including an interview to The Forward praising Obama's abilities. At the time, Solow resided in Obama's South Side of Chicago district. This support continued with the Senate campaign and played an important role in the Presidential campaign, helping gather Jewish support for the candidate. He was also one of the bundlers (major financial backers) of the Obama campaign, having contributed over half a million dollars.

Solow is credited with calling Barack Obama "the first Jewish president". In 2008, he was quoted: "I said with a smile that he will be the first Jewish president. He also has a deep understanding of issues that confront Israel and the Jewish community." He also traveled with Obama to Israel in a highly publicized visit in 2007.

It is widely speculated that the friendship with the president helped Solow become the chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, a suggestion rejected by Solow Later, Solow criticized the Obama administration for its stand on the Israeli settlements issue.

He also criticized Obama anti-semitism envoy Hannah Rosenthal for remarks which "could threaten to limit her effectiveness in the area for which she is actually responsible".

Key Obama backer, confidante Alan Solow tipped to head U.S. Jewry’s top body

Chicago attorney, philanthropist and Jewish community leader Alan Solow, a key supporter and confidante of Barack Obama, has been nominated to chair the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, U.S. Jewry’s most prominent voice in foreign and domestic policy issues.

The choice of Solow follows a period of political tension surrounding the 2008 campaign, in which Obama backers chafed at reported statements and decisions of the formally non-partisan Presidents Conference, and in particular, of its influential longtime executive vice-chairman, Malcolm Hoenlein.

Solow, who once lived in Obama’s neighborhood, is one of Obama’s most veteran supporters, having backed his campaign for the Illinois State Senate a dozen years ago.

The Chicago connection also figures in Solow’s acquaintance with Obama White House chief of staff-designate Rahm Emanuel.

Obama never needed to reference the 1967 lines. It is not like this came out of thin air. This speech was debated and argued in the White House, in the State Department, and even by foreign diplomats including Neetanyahu himself who called many times begging him not to use the phrase days and hours before it was given. He could have used an infinite number of other ways to explain what he meant.

This is a bed made by Obama. Now he has to sleep in it. Sending out surrogates after the fact to retract what he said, after he said he didn’t mean what he said, of which he had to have known the ramifications, won’t help.

The big problem here is that Obama appears to think as if he is the first person to try to solve the conflict. Bush was warned directly and personally by President Clinton to stay out of the snake pit but Obama for some reason jumped right into it.

Alan Solow

“The political situation inside Israel is stable,” declared Solow, who spoke comfortably in his pronounced Chicago accent for about 15 minutes, from scribbled notes. “There is a better relationship between Obama and Netanyahu—it’s improved from the early days of both the Obama and the Netanyahu Administrations. What we’re seeing is the benefit of the passage of time.” As for Biden, with whom he had met the week before in Washington, Solow added, “I’m not surprised his visit to Israel has been a positive one.”

By the time Solow got back to his office, on the 19th floor of a tower up the street from City Hall, his blue-jacketed BlackBerry was buzzing with news to the contrary, provoking a cluck of exasperation. The vice president had just released a harshly worded statement: “I condemn the decision by the government of Israel to advance planning for new housing units in East Jerusalem,” Biden said. “The substance and timing of the announcement, particularly with the launching of proximity talks, is precisely the kind of step that undermines the trust we need right now and runs counter to the constructive discussions that I’ve had here in Israel.”

“The screw-up,” as it came to be known—in polite company, at least—threatened to undo a year’s worth of political work by Solow to bring the Obama team closer to the Israelis. Biden was the highest-ranking of the American officials who have traveled to Jerusalem this year in hopes of jump-starting the peace process; the incident virtually guaranteed that Obama would not soon follow. In the short term, it gave the Administration—not to mention the Palestinians—grounds to argue that the Israelis were being either childish, or politically unreliable, or both, in advance of the newly agreed upon “proximity talks,” a modern variant of shuttle diplomacy.

It might have remained one in a series of passing diplomatic contretemps between the Americans and the Israelis—except that, on Friday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Netanyahu to deliver a further 45-minute scolding. On Sunday, White House senior adviser David Axelrod went on ABC’s This Week and said he thought the announcement had been calculated to undermine progress toward peace talks. People who had lived through the 1991 fight with the elder President Bush over loan guarantees to Israel started making the analogy. Although both Obama and Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren have since deflected talk of a “crisis,” the situation was widely seen as the thorniest interaction between the two allies in decades.

As the nominal head of American Jewry, Solow found himself in the position of being responsible, on behalf of his members, for figuring out how and when to openly criticize the decisions of a president he sincerely believes has the best interests of Israel, and of Jews, at heart—and the apparently calculated strategy of Administration members to whom he is personally very close. During the campaign, Solow went on tandem road-shows with Dennis Ross, the National Security Council adviser who handles Iran policy; he is also close to Daniel Shapiro, the NSC’s Middle East expert. George Mitchell, Obama’s special envoy for peace talks, helped recruit Solow last year from the Chicago law firm where he worked for 25 years into the international powerhouse DLA Piper, where Mitchell was chairman of the board before joining the Administration.

Obama Forming an ‘I Really Love Israel’ PR Squad To Try and Rescue Jewish Vote

Perhaps in response to the Politico report earlier this week, it appears that some low-level Jewish players have decided to seal their place in the progressive movement rather than act for the best interests of both the United States and its valuable Mid-East ally,  Israel. According to the WAPO’s Greg Sargent, the Obama campaign is planning to send out surrogates to go on the offensive against pro-Israel groups critical of the president’s Israel policy.

“We will have highly credible spokespeople and surrogates speak out in a general manner in support of what this administration has done, and articulate it in a way that we think will resonate with voters who care about this issue,” former Conference of Presidents leader Alan Solow told Sargent. “We will meet with supporters who have expressed concerns or want to be briefed on these issues on a one-on-one basis.”

Just like any predator, the Obama Jew-squad has picked off a bunch of “never weres” and “used to bes” to try and convince Jews that the truth that he  is the most anti-Israel President in history,  is simply not true.
According to the article, the Jew-squad will  include Jewish Obama fundraisers, including Solow, former U.S. Reps. Mel Levine and Robert Wexler, and businesswoman Penny Pritzker, (who’s position on Israel can be described as slightly more negative than Louis Farrakhan).

This group of house-Jews will work hard to convince that Obama is really pro-Israel, but short of Bobby Ewing stepping out of the shower and claiming the last two years were just a bad dream, or simply lying, I am at a loss at how these how these modern day Kapos-in training, will be able to convince people of the President is really a buddy of the Jewish State.

What they don’t understand is that it isn’t just the conservatives, and it’s not just Obama’s recent actions, it’s the cumulative effect of all of the times Obama has thrown Israel and its leaders under the bus since he was elected President.  The reelection committee also forgets that liberal Jews are reading liberal media,  who have gone out of their way to protect this president, and yet the liberal Jews still believe Obama is anti-Israel.

The effort to make this point, I’m told, will also be proactive, with surrogates publishing op ed pieces that represent the White House’s point of view. And it will include a renewed effort to highlight other aspects of Obama’s record that have gone under-discussed, like increased military cooperation between Israel and the United States.

Two of the primary conservative arguments against Obama are that he called for Israel to return to 1967 lines and that he has not publicly stated with enough clarity that Israel will not be expected to negotiate with a government that includes a Hamas that has not recognized Israel’s right to exist.

Axelrod says both points are untrue, so I guess the Bobby Ewing strategy is out.

But this point is very true, the fact that this is becoming a key effort of the Obama administration is more proof that the reelection campaign is either losing Jewish money or internal polls are beginning to show that many Jews are considering either voting GOP or at the very least not voting for President in 2012.

Axelrod’s choices for this “But Guys I Really Truly, Cross My Heart Hope to Die, Love Israel“  PR hit squad shows  he is very out of touch with the pro-Israel community, or all the “good people” refused.  Either way, its an indication that the rumors are true, the reelection committee is getting a bit nervous about losing the Jewish vote in 2012.

That is why, I am convinced, just as Obama was groomed for this day by the Prince of the powers of Darkness,

Calling God the "Prince of the Powers of Darkness"? Is this another sorry example of DIY theology?
