Something to be proud of PING
That would be great, especially when we have a pResident who looks at a child as a "punishment"
There was 1 amendment included, which would allow an abortion to protect the life of the mother.... but it also forces the doctor performing the abortion to include the reason for the abortion, and that stays recorded for 7 years, essentially putting their medical license on the line. (The bill wouldn’t of passed the house w/o the amendment)

Bill is listed here (HB 125):

While the extremist social left has had their way, the argument was off limits according the certain 'libertarian' talk show hosts; they were neutral you know.
With emotional voices they railed against social conservatives for even talking about it.
Now watch the same hypocrites suddenly find their voice, that is if the far left starts losing the ground they have been stealing for decades.
If it’s not singed by their Senate and Governor, then it’s not law. If it’s blocked by a judge, then it’s not law.
Good for Ohio, unfortunately I have no faith in the judiciary, I could see some activist court overturning this.
I am sure Kasich will sign it if he hasn’t already.
That’s a good amendment.
Although I am very pro-life, I’d have a huge problem without the ‘life of the mother’ clause.
Somebody highlight when this is needed? Hemophilia?
Placental abruption or similar issues with the placenta. Unfailingly lethal to fetus, mother can be saved with treatment, bleeds to death if untreated.
Hemorrhage, ectopic pregnancy, cancer, stroke, eclampsia... just to name a few. Pregnancy puts a lot of stress on a womman’s body and previously undiagnosed problems (such as heart defects) can be revealed.
Contrary to what we all hope, pregnancy still is a risky enterprise. Things can and do go wrong.
Without the amendment, by this law’s reasoning, my cousin’s ectopic pregnancy would be illegal.
I also wonder what this law would do with a molar pregnancy. My daughter’s wasn’t diagnosed until she was 11 weeks pregnant. The pregnancy was doomed and had to be removed. Does the fact that there was no heartbeat make this ‘not a pregnancy’ and thus not applicable to this law?
Does viability of the fetus come into play at all?
Sometimes a pregnancy has to be ended to preserve the life and future reproductive health of the mother. I view this as a tragedy and more in line with a miscarriage. There is no evil intent and most mothers deeply mourn these losses.
The one time that this makes no sense to me at all is in the third trimester. The baby has to come out one way or another. Why does it have to be dead? Just deliver it premature, if you must, and try to save both mother and baby.
So there should have been a specific list of these conditions/disorders in the bill.
How rare or common are they?
1 in 100 women get pre-eclampsia. I don’t know about the others. (I left my medical degree in my other bag.)
The one thing I do know is that I do NOT trust a bunch of lawyers to tell my doctor (in advance) how to treat me if I’m in a life or death situation.
Do you?
I do believe that this is a lot of why we hate Obama-care so much.
Good for Ohio. I love it!
I am so happy my state has done this.I only hope it passes the Seanate and then some idiot leftist judge doesn’t try to stop it.

I agree with all you have said.I would venture a guess that there are probably a few out of every 100 pregnancies that would fall under these guidelines. My sister nearly died from an ectopic pregnancy. The doctor said she was about 20 minutes from an emergency when her husband forced her to go the hospital.
